What a performance we witnessed from Lens at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis. It was an absolute demolition of a very poor LOSC Lille side. The final score of 3-0 almost feels kind to the visitors, who were second best in every department. From our perspective, Lens just wanted it more from the very first whistle.

The game was defined by clinical finishing and defensive chaos. Wesley Saïd opened the scoring with a poacher's finish before Florian Thauvin added a stunner just before halftime. The match was effectively over. Rayan Fofana then sealed the deal in the second half, capping off a brilliant team move.

Robin Risser - 7.5: A very composed performance from the goalkeeper. He made three crucial saves inside the box, particularly one from Félix Correia that kept his team in control. His distribution was solid, and he even launched the attack that led to a chance. The clean sheet was well-deserved.

Defenders

Samson Baidoo - 7.5: What stood out to us was his incredible reading of the game. With eight clearances and five interceptions, he was a defensive wall. He won the majority of his duels and looked completely untroubled all game. A commanding and mature display.

Malang Sarr - 6.5: A bit of a mixed performance from Sarr. He contributed with a massive nine clearances, but an error leading to a shot and losing possession 13 times took the shine off his game. He did his job overall but looked a little shaky at moments.

Jonathan Gradit - 7.0: The silent warrior of the backline. He was positionally sound, making two key blocked shots and a couple of important interceptions. He just did his job without any fuss, providing the stability needed for the wing-backs to push forward. Solid as a rock.

Midfielders

Ruben Aguilar - 6.5: An energetic display in his 69 minutes on the pitch. He got forward to support the attack, even forcing a good save from the keeper. He was decent defensively, making a couple of tackles, but his influence waned slightly as the game progressed.

Mamadou Sangaré - 7.5: He was an absolute engine in the heart of midfield. We noticed he recovered the ball an impressive nine times and won seven duels, completely bossing his area of the pitch. His passing was accurate and he even chipped in with a key pass. An all-action performance.

Adrien Thomasson - 7.0: The captain delivered a true captain's performance. His work rate was immense, highlighted by 11 ball recoveries. He provided the crucial assist for the opening goal with a well-delivered cross. A leader on the pitch.

Matthieu Udol - 6.5: A very busy outing for Udol on the left flank. He made five crucial interceptions, showing his defensive awareness. However he did pick up a late yellow card and lost a few too many duels. He worked tirelessly for the team.

Forwards

Florian Thauvin - 8.0: Scored an absolutely brilliant goal to double the lead, a strike worthy of winning any match. He was a constant creative force, though we felt he could have been more careful in possession at times. Still, his goal and two created chances were vital.

Wesley Saïd - 9.0: Simply sensational. He was the best player on the park by a country mile. He scored the opener, assisted the second, and created a staggering five chances for his teammates. His movement off the ball was a nightmare for the Lille defence. A flawless, man-of-the-match display.

Rayan Fofana - 7.5: The young attacker was electric. He ran tirelessly at the defence, got into great positions, and took his goal with the composure of a veteran. He missed one big chance earlier, but his persistence paid off. A very exciting talent.

Substitutes

Saud Abdulhamid, Odsonne Édouard, Morgan Guilavogui, Fode Sylla, Florian Sotoca - 6.0: All the substitutes came on when the game was already won. They helped maintain control and saw the match out professionally without any issues.

Berke Özer - 5.0: A difficult day for the keeper, who was left exposed by his defence. He made three saves, one of which was a very good stop, but conceding three goals is never a good look. His distribution was also not as composed as it could have been.

Defenders

N. Ngoy - 5.0: A tough afternoon for the defender. He was part of a backline that conceded three and he made an error that led to a shot. While he made a high volume of passes, he struggled to contain the fluid movement of Lens's forwards.

Chancel Mbemba - 4.5: A surprisingly poor performance from the experienced defender. He made an error leading to a shot, picked up a yellow card, and looked off the pace all game. It was a performance to forget, as he was uncharacteristically sloppy.

Aïssa Mandi - 5.0: He looked uncomfortable throughout the match. He picked up a booking and was part of a defence that was pulled apart time and again. He lost possession far too easily and couldn't handle the pace of the game. A difficult outing.

Midfielders

Nabil Bentaleb - 6.0: He tried to make things happen from midfield and showed some moments of quality with his passing. However, he was fighting a losing battle against a far more energetic Lens midfield. He was tidy on the ball but lacked a decisive impact.

Matías Fernández-Pardo - 6.5: One of the few bright spots for Lille. He was their main creative outlet, creating four chances including two big ones. His passing was incisive and he always looked to get on the ball. He deserved better from his teammates.

Hákon Arnar Haraldsson - 5.5: He worked hard and won an impressive seven duels, but he was ineffective in an attacking sense. He hit the woodwork with one effort but was otherwise quiet before being substituted. Needed to offer more creativity.
