Liverpool 1-4 PSV Player Ratings: The Reds Suffer Heavy UCL Defeat At Anfield

Liverpool were desperate to make a strong statement after their disappointing results in a series of games recently. The Reds headed into the home Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven on the back of a humiliating Premier League defeat to Nottingham Forest. The Reds started the UCL game promisingly but ended up conceding an early goal.

Virgil van Dijk was guilty of handball while defending a corner, with the referee awarding a penalty to PSV Eindhoven. Ivan Perisic made no mistake in converting the chance, with PSV Eindhoven taking a crucial lead at Anfield. Liverpool bounced back soon as Dominik Szoboszlai scored the equaliser ahead of the first-half whistle. The Liverpool FC vs PSV scoreline remained 1-1 at the break.

PSV Eindhoven restored their lead early in the second half. This time, Guus Til scored for the Dutch club, as Liverpool once again went behind at home. The Premier League champions found themselves in more trouble in the 73rd minute when Couhaib Driouech made it 3-1 for PSV Eindhoven. Driouech completed his brace in the stoppage time as the Liverpool vs PSV game ended at a score of 4-1 in favour of the visitors.
