Mallorca 0-3 Barcelona Player Ratings: Lamine Yamal 9/10 As Blaugrana Start La Liga Title Defence With Dominant Win

Summary
Barcelona kick-started their 2025-26 La Liga campaign with a 3-0 win over Mallorca at the Estadi Mallorca Son Moix on Saturday, 16 August 2025. Raphinha and Ferran Torres' first-half goals and a late Lamine Yamal goal were enough to help the defending champions get three points to start their season.
La Liga's club Barcelona started dictating the tempo of the game from the get-go and started putting their opponents under pressure with clever attacking movement. They took the lead in the 7th minute after Lamine Yamal's cross found Raphinha in the back post to score a smart header past the goalkeeper.
Some controversy took place in the 23rd minute as Barcelona doubled the lead. Antonio Raillo went down on the ground after a Yamal shot struck him in the head, but Ferran Torres continued playing before slotting a shot into the top corner to make it 2-0.
The goal infuriated many Mallorca players, with midfielder Manu Morlans booked for dissent. That would come back to haunt him in the 33rd minute, as Morales saw his second yellow for a bad tackle on Yamal and was sent off. Mallorca were then reduced to 10 men in the 39th minute after Vedat Muriqi saw red for a risky high-boot challenge on Joan Garcia.
Barcelona dominated the majority of the second half against the nine-man Mallorca side. Raphinha and Dani Olmo both struck the post with some shots, before Lamine Yamal scored a top corner curler in the 94th minute to help Barcelona begin their La Liga title defence in style.

Morey failed to really keep a tight mark on Raphinha. Totally lost his marker and played him onside for his goal, and was also booked for a poor challenge.
Martin Valjent - 5.5/10
Valjient was guilty of being outwitted easily for Ferran's goal. He did improve as he game went on, making some key clearances, but couldn't hold together a strong shape.
