Newcastle 2-1 Man City Player Ratings: Harvey Barnes Scores Brace As The Magpies Seal Thrilling Win

After crushing defending champions Liverpool, Manchester City clashed against Newcastle away from home in an important Premier League fixture. All eyes were on City stalwart Erling Haaland, who needed just one strike to break Alen Shearer’s record for the fastest 100 goals in the Premier League.
Despite enjoying superior ball possession, Manchester City were unable to produce anything significant in the first half. Newcastle United also created some good chances and had three shots on target, but all of them were denied by the City defence. No team was able to break the deadlock in the first half, as the Newcastle vs Man City score remained goalless at the interval.
While the first 45 minutes were quiet, the second half was filled with much drama. Harvey Barnes opened the scoring for Newcastle United in the 64th minute, making it 1-0 for the hosts. Barnes once again stepped up to secure the lead for Newcastle and completed his brace in a span of just six minutes.
