Qarabağ Player Ratings vs Chelsea

Here are Qarabag Player Ratings from the Chelsea vs Qarabag UCL game:

Goalkeeper

Mateusz Kochalski - 6.5: He made a couple of crucial saves, especially one against Enzo Fernández in the second half. He couldn't do much about either of Chelsea's goals. A solid, if unspectacular, performance between the sticks for Qarabağ.

Defenders

Matheus Silva - 6.5: What we noticed was a real warrior's performance. He was everywhere, making 5 tackles and 6 clearances. However, he also picked up a yellow card and was caught out a couple of times. A committed, all-action display.

Bahlul Mustafazada - 6.0: A quiet evening for the center-back. He was tidy in possession with a 91% pass accuracy but we felt he could have been more dominant in his duels. He did his job without any major errors which is all you can ask for sometimes.

Elvin Cafarquliyev - 6.0: He got up and down the left flank well before his unfortunate injury. He tried to contribute to the attack but his final ball was lacking. A decent shift overall from our perspective.

Kevin Medina - 7.5: From our viewpoint, he was Qarabağ's best defender. He read the game magnificently, making 5 interceptions and winning 7 of his 8 duels. He was a rock at the back, though the yellow card was a slight blemish on an otherwise superb defensive outing.

Midfielders

Marko Jankovic - 7.5: He showed immense composure to slot home his penalty and was a combative force in the middle of the park. He broke up play effectively and contributed to his team's aggressive press. A really impressive performance.

Abdellah Zoubir - 5.5: The captain had a surprisingly quiet game. He struggled to make an impact on the proceedings and was substituted in the second half. We expected more from a player of his quality.

Leandro Andrade - 7.5: A livewire. He took his goal brilliantly, showing great instinct in the box. He was a constant threat with his movement and energy until he was surprisingly taken off. A fantastic contribution.

Kady Borges - N/A: Looked bright and involved in the opening exchanges before an injury cut his night short after just 31 minutes. A real shame for him and the team.

Pedro Bicalho - 6.5: A workhorse performance in midfield. He covered a lot of ground, made some key interceptions, but also lost possession a bit too often for our liking. A mixed but tireless display.

Attackers

Camilo Durán - 7.0: He was so unlucky to see his shot cannon back off the post. He was a real handful for the Chelsea defence with his powerful running and directness. His presence was missed after he was substituted.

Substitutes

Emmanuel Addai - 7.0: Made an instant impact after coming on, setting up a chance almost immediately. He looked sharp and dangerous.

Toral Bayramov - 6.0: Couldn't quite match the intensity and threat of the man he replaced, Leandro Andrade.

Nariman Akhundzada - 6.0: Had one speculative shot that went wide but didn't really alter the course of the game.

Dani Bolt - N/A: Came on late for the injured Cafarquliyev and didn't have enough time to make an impression.

Oleksii Kashchuk - 6.5: Looked lively in his cameo, forcing a late save and asking questions of the Chelsea backline.

Manager

Q. Qurbanov - 7.0: His team was brilliantly set up to frustrate and counter Chelsea. They played with immense heart and tactical discipline. He was perhaps let down by a moment of individual error, but can be proud of his team's performance in this UEFA Champions League tie.

Chelsea Player Ratings vs Qarabag

Here are Chelsea Player Ratings from Qarabag vs Chelsea UCL game:

Goalkeeper

Robert Sánchez - 6.0: Beaten twice, but could hardly be blamed for the penalty. He made one decent save but didn't command his area with the authority we'd like to see. A fairly average night for the keeper.

Defenders

Marc Cucurella - 5.5: From our perspective, this was a difficult night for him. He committed a staggering 6 fouls and looked uncomfortable against Qarabağ's runners. He tried to get forward but his defensive frailties were exposed.

Tosin Adarabioyo - 7.0: A very composed and solid performance. He was excellent on the ball and made two crucial blocked shots. In a defence that looked shaky at times, he was a calm and reassuring presence. A promising start.

Jorrel Hato - 4.0: A night to forget for the young defender. His clumsy handball gifted Qarabağ a penalty, a critical error that changed the momentum of the game. He looked nervy and his mistake proved very costly indeed.

Reece James - 6.0: The captain had a mixed game. He delivered some dangerous crosses and tried to drive his team forward. However, he was also booked and caught out defensively on a couple of occasions. Not his finest hour.

Midfielders

Jamie Gittens - 5.0: He was largely anonymous in the first half and failed to make any real impact. It was no surprise to see him substituted at halftime. He struggled to get into the game.

Andrey Santos - 6.5: He provided the assist for Estêvão's goal but also picked up a needless yellow card. He was another player sacrificed at the break as the manager looked for more control. A decent, if brief, contribution.

João Pedro - 6.0: He tried to link the midfield and attack but often found himself crowded out. He lost possession too frequently and couldn't stamp his authority on the game. A frustrating evening for him.

Estêvão - 8.5: The absolute standout performer for Chelsea. He scored a goal, created three chances, and was a constant menace with his dribbling. He played with a confidence and flair that his teammates lacked. What stood out to us was his bravery on the ball. Our man of the match, without a doubt.

Roméo Lavia - N/A: His game was cruelly ended by injury after just eight minutes. Impossible to rate him based on such a short appearance.

Attackers

Tyrique George - 5.0: Much like Gittens, he had a very quiet first half. He couldn't get involved in the play and was substituted at the interval. A learning experience for the young attacker.

Substitutes

Moisés Caicedo - 6.5: Came on early for the injured Roméo Lavia and brought some much-needed energy. He was combative but also earned a late yellow card.

Alejandro Garnacho - 8.0: An inspired substitution. His introduction changed the game, and he scored the vital equalizing goal with a clinical finish. He provided the spark Chelsea were crying out for.

Enzo Fernández - 7.5: Added a touch of class and composure to the midfield when he came on. His range of passing helped Chelsea control the second half and create chances.

Liam Delap - 6.5: Provided a physical presence up front and worked hard to occupy the Qarabağ defenders. He held the ball up well to bring others into play.

Manager

E. Maresca - 7.5: His initial lineup struggled, but his halftime changes were masterful. The triple substitution completely swung the momentum of the match and ultimately saved a point for his side. He deserves huge credit for his proactive and decisive management.

Sportsdunia’s Player of the Match goes to Estevao with 8.5/10 ratings.
