Bosnia and Herzegovina delivered an absolutely crushing performance against a beleaguered San Marino in the European Qualifiers. This was a complete demolition from start to finish as the visitors had most of the possession in the game from the beginning of the match. The match, held at the Olimpico di Serravalle Stadium, was essentially over as a contest very early on. The turning point was the red card shown to San Marino's captain, Alessandro Golinucci, just 16 minutes in, which opened up spaces in the central part of the field.

Playing with ten men against the Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team looked like an impossible task for the home side. They capitalized immediately and never looked back. The goals flowed freely in a display of ruthless attacking football. It was a statement victory for the visitors in this WC Qualification Europe encounter. San Marino, on the other hand, had a night they'll want to forget, completely outclassed in every department.

The gulf in class was evident throughout the ninety minutes. Bosnia and Herzegovina dominated possession, creating chance after chance. The home side could barely get out of their own half. This was one of the most one-sided matches we've seen in a long time; the final 6-0 scoreline doesn't even flatter the away team.

Bosnia and Herzegovina Player Ratings vs San Marino

Here are Bosnia and Herzegovina Player Ratings vs San Marino

Goalkeeper

Nikola Vasilj - 6.5: A complete spectator for most of the game. He was called upon to make just one comfortable save all night. His distribution was perfect, with 100% accuracy, but he was never truly tested. It was an easy day at the office for the goalkeeper. He did what he had to do with minimal fuss. A quiet but flawless evening.

Defenders

Jusuf Gazibegovic - 7.5: Very active and impressive on the right flank. He was solid defensively, winning four of his six duels. More importantly, he provided a constant attacking outlet for his team. His forward runs caused problems and he created one key pass. A very strong all-around performance from the full-back.

Adrian Leon Barisic - 6.5: A comfortable evening at the back for the central defender. He was composed on the ball, boasting a 98% pass accuracy. However, he picked up a completely needless yellow card which slightly tarnishes his game. San Marino's attack never really troubled him or his partner. He will have tougher nights.

Stjepan Radeljic - 7.0: Much like his defensive partner, he had very little to do. He was strong in the air and passed the ball well out from the back. We noticed he missed a big chance from close range in the second half. Otherwise, a very steady and untroubled performance against limited opposition.

Dzenis Burnic - 6.5: Solid enough before being substituted with about 20 minutes to go. He won all his long balls and was tidy in possession. He also received a booking for a clumsy foul, which was unnecessary given his team's dominance. A decent, if unspectacular, outing.

Midfielders

Ivan Basic - 8.5: Ran the show from the heart of midfield. What stood out to us was his creative force, registering an incredible five key passes. He was always looking to break the lines with his incisive passing. His passing range and vision were a joy to watch throughout his 90 minutes.

Benjamin Tahirović - 8.0: Scored a fantastic opening goal with a powerful strike from distance. He was energetic, won his duels, and helped control the tempo of the game. His goal set the tone for the rout that followed. A really impressive display before he was substituted.

Haris Hajradinovic - 6.0: A surprisingly quiet 45 minutes from him. He struggled to get involved in the game and make a real impact. From our perspective, he seemed a bit off the pace. He was rightly hooked at half-time for a more dynamic option.

Forwards

Kerim Alajbegovic - 9.0: An absolutely outstanding performance from the attacker. He was a constant menace, scoring a brilliant goal and providing an assist. He created four chances and had five shots in total. He was a complete nightmare for the San Marino defence to handle.

Ermedin Demirovic - 6.0: He worked tirelessly and drew several fouls from the opposition. However, he was quite wasteful in front of goal and often made the wrong decision in the final third. His work rate was good but he lacked the final product before being subbed.

Edin Džeko - 9.5: Vintage Džeko. The captain was simply unplayable during his 73 minutes on the pitch. He scored two excellent goals from his eight shots and was a constant threat. His movement and link-up play were sublime. Without a doubt, the highest-rated player and Man of the Match.

Substitutes

Esmir Bajraktarevic - 7.0: Came on at half-time and provided an assist for Džeko's second goal. He looked lively and continued the team's momentum.

Amar Memic - 7.0: Also registered an assist shortly after coming on. He fit right into the dominant attacking display and caused problems.

Samed Bazdar - 7.5: Scored a goal with a confident finish. He looked sharp and eager to make an impression during his cameo.

Nihad Mujakic - 7.5: Got himself on the scoresheet with a late goal. It was a great reward for a solid cameo appearance from the defender.

Eman Kospo - 7.0: Provided the assist for Alajbegovic's goal. He kept the pressure on San Marino's tired defence with fresh legs and energy.

Manager

S. Barbarez - 8.0: His team was set up perfectly to exploit San Marino's weaknesses. The game plan was executed flawlessly. His substitutions were particularly effective, with several getting on the scoresheet or providing assists. A faultless day's work for the manager.

Goalkeeper

Edoardo Colombo - 5.0: This was a night he'll want to forget quickly. He conceded six goals, and his error directly led to one of them. He did make four saves to prevent the score from being even higher. He was left completely exposed by his defence all game.

Defenders

Alberto Riccardi - 4.5: He really struggled against Bosnia's fluid and relentless attack. He was dispossessed twice and couldn't handle the movement of the forwards. It was a very difficult evening for the defender, who was chasing shadows for 90 minutes.

Filippo Fabbri - 5.0: He made a few clearances and interceptions, but was part of a backline that was torn to shreds. The sheer volume of attacks was too much to handle. It was a long and thankless task for him against a far superior opponent.

Michele Cevoli - 4.5: A very poor performance, capped by a costly error that led to a goal. He lost most of his duels and looked off the pace from the start. A really tough outing for the central defender who was overwhelmed.

Giacomo Valentini - 5.5: Tried to get forward when he could but was mostly pinned back doing defensive duties. He was steady enough compared to his teammates. He had to go off injured late in the game after a battling display.

Midfielders

Lorenzo Capicchioni - 5.0: He was completely overrun in the midfield battle. He was dribbled past three times and lost possession frequently. He picked up a yellow card for a frustrated challenge, which summed up his night.

Samuele Zannoni - 5.5: He worked hard but couldn't make any meaningful impact on the game. He was tidy enough on the ball when he had it. The game largely passed him by as Bosnia dominated possession.

Alessandro Golinucci - 1.0: His early red card was incredibly foolish and unprofessional. It ruined any slim chance his team had of competing. He let his manager and teammates down massively with that moment of madness.

Forwards

Andrea Contadini - 5.5: He showed a couple of nice touches and surprisingly created three key passes. But he was starved of the ball and struggled to get into the game. He was substituted after an hour of hard running with little reward.

F. Berardi - 5.5: Another attacker who was isolated and starved of service. He made a few interceptions with his defensive work rate. He couldn't influence the game going forward at all.

Nicola Nanni - 6.0: The only bright spark for a well-beaten San Marino side. He worked tirelessly up front on his own. He won six fouls for his team and had their only real shot on target. He never gave up, despite the impossible odds.

Substitutes

Gabriel Capicchioni - 5.0: Came on for the injured Berardi but couldn't stem the tide of Bosnian attacks.

Alessandro Tosi - 5.0: Brought on for Contadini and had to do a lot of defensive work with little effect.

Valli Casadei - 5.0: Replaced Zannoni and chased shadows for the final 15 minutes of the match.

Marcello Mularoni - 5.0: Had little chance to make an impact in a team that was already well-beaten.

Marco Pasolini - N/A: Came on late for an injured player and did not have enough time to be rated.

Manager

R. Cevoli - 4.0: His game plan went straight out the window after just 16 minutes. There was very little he could do after the reckless red card. His team was simply outclassed, and the result reflects that gulf in quality.
