Apex Legends Remote Access Cheats

Summary

  • A recent alleged Apex Legends Remote Access Cheats incident surfaced after creator @Juicyshmooves_ shared footage of an unknown actor repeatedly taking control of their and xeaul’s accounts during a ranked match, sabotaging gameplay multiple times.
  • Similar incidents have occurred in the past, including a major breach during the ALGS NA Qualifiers 2024, where a hacker compromised the systems of professional players and injected cheats mid-tournament.

In an unfortunate turn of events, the battle royale community was left stunned following a recent alleged incident involving Apex Legends Remote Access Cheats. One of the growing content creators in this battle royale, @Juicyshmooves_, has posted a video on X showcasing how an unknown authority took control of their and Xeaul's (another creator) account in a ranked game, almost six times. Funnily enough, the hacker tried to pad them off the map after dropping all their weapons and resources from the inventory.

For context, this isn't a new phenomenon. If we look at the past, the community has witnessed comparable events, even something bigger, under similar circumstances. A notorious hacker breached the computers of professional players and installed cheats during the ALGS NA Qualifiers in 2024.

Apex Legends Remote Access Cheats: What Happened Exactly

It was a Friday night in Boston, and two growing Apex Legends content creators, xeaul and Juicyshmooves, were grinding competitive ranked leagues. Everything was going fine until an unknown threat actor allegedly took control of their characters and started sabotaging their gameplay.

The creator posted a compilation of multiple clips where the unknown threat has sabotaged their games not once or twice, but six times. At one instant, the threat walks xeaul off the map. In another instance, they tried to pad Juicyshmooves off the map while the creator was playing Octane. He even got disconnected several times due to this Respawn Entertainment security issue.

Once the creator took this compilation video to X, several Apex Legends enthusiasts shared their thoughts on this matter. A user named @ShrimpyMelon showed their disgust towards the developers and commented:
“This game is cooked. I can literally feel when Respawn has made moves against cheaters because everyone is another average player, points are easily gained and gameplay feels natural. But a week and a half later it's back to being cheater ridden until the end of the season”

Meanwhile, another user, who goes by the name @iaroslavmamalat, posted their personal experience of how the same security threat happened during season 4, even when their Internet was off.

When they turned off the Bluetooth, however, this issue was resolved. Hence, they asked the creator to try that.

Respawn Entertainment's Response To This “Apex Legends Remote Access Cheats” Issue

Once the video went viral, the developers at Respawn Entertainment got a good look at this. Their response, however, was not satisfactory. The company is actively working on this issue, but its initial investigation failed to identify the issue's core. They have yet to find whether the bad actor has installed or executed code, as in the case of RCE or an injection attack.

They commented:

“Based on our initial investigation, we have not identified evidence that suggests the bad actors can install or execute code as in the case of an RCE or injection attack. We are actively working on a solution and will update you when we have more information.”

By the time Respwan gets to the core of this issue, we recommend that everyone restrict themselves from entering Apex Legends ranked lobbies, as you could be next.
