Arknights Endfield Paypal Accounts Hacked as Users Report Unauthorized Charges

In an unfortunate turn of events, Arknights Endfield disables PayPal account within hours after the gacha action-RPG went live globally. It's quite common nowadays for games to encounter problems on launch dates; however, Endfield's one is a bit different and quite dangerous. As of now, no one has complained about any in-game issues, but those who used their PayPal accounts during in-game transactions have faced some unfortunate consequences.

Based on some reports on Reddit, Arknights Endfield Paypal Accounts Hacked, and users saw some unauthorised transactions on their accounts. Following the mass reports regarding the transaction errors, Hypergryph took care of this issue and promised to refund all the amounts to every individual who got scammed.

As per the classic gacha method, gamers need to invest real-time money to pull some special characters and build a strong roster to progress through the storyline. And rightly so, Endfield users were using their PayPal account to purchase in-game Battle Pass and other items, until they noticed some unauthorised transactions.

As per one Reddit user, tinman244, they got charged $1200 while attempting to purchase the Battle Pass, which is expected to cost around 10$ to 20$ range. And as surprising as it gets, the transaction was attempted multiple times. Additionally, the currency type changed each time to JPY, USD, or another supported currency.

While this isn't the only user, tons of other users have faced the Arknights Endfield PayPal issue and took this entire fiasco to Reddit and other platforms and conveyed this message to the developers. Based on a few reports available across the internet, the PayPal channel featured an exploit, allowing hackers to enter the gateway and use it to transact hefty amounts. Hypergryph's response to Arknights Endfield Paypal Accounts Hacked

After a couple of hours, when the whole fiasco got everyone's attention, the developers at Hypergryph addressed the issue. They posted a Payment Channel Maintenance Notice, which says:

As per the post, the PayPal Payment gateways have been closed as of now, and no official confirmation is available about when they'll come back online again.

However, on the bright side, the developers have posted another announcement on X, addressing the refund issue. According to the officials, they completed a full review at 6:20 PM (UTC +8) and identified which users have been affected. 10 minutes before the review, the authority started the refund process, enabling gacha fans to invest money in-game and build a strong roster to survive in Talos-II.
