Having Beaten AC Black Flag 5 Times, Here Are 5 Changes That Has Me Hyped for the Remake

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced's Ubisoft showcase on April 23 is winning hearts. Fans were excited to see their favorite pirate, Edward James Kenway, back in action. The Welshman carries his classic fearsome vibe and aura, but now with super-high visual fidelity to boost the overall immersion. Ubisoft has also revamped the title, introducing several new features and improvements that have gotten the whole AC community talking. Having beaten the original release five times for a 100% completion rate, I am excited about five AC Black Flag Resynced new features in the remake.

5 Big Changes in AC Black Flag Resynced Compared to Original Release

The AC Black Flag Resynced release date has been set for July 9, 2026. These are the five AC Black Flag Resynced new changes the game will introduce in the upcoming title in the summer.

Crouching

Finally, something that resonates more with the Assassin's Creed theme. Yes, the franchise had to deal with a ton of identity issues where the game tried to cater to both AC fans and pirate-movie fans. It was extremely difficult balancing both, but now Ubisoft seemingly has more clarity about its approach. The new crouching system will introduce a whole new level of stealth-based combat, aligning better with what the Assassin's Creed franchise was meant to deliver in the first place.

New Jackdaw Officers

I have nothing against Adewale or Anne Bonny, as both characters helped the original release find its success. That said, I like the introduction of a new class of officers that will help your ship unlock new abilities. Ubisoft exemplified its claims by showcasing Dead Man Smith. Having him as a ship officer will unlock a double shot from the broadside canons.

Failing Eavesdrop Won't Mean Instant Desynchronisation

One of Assassin's Creed Black Flag's biggest weaknesses was the tailing missions. Yes, spending minutes tailing your target only to be accidentally discovered took away from the experience. That changes with AC Black Flag Resynced. Getting discovered in the new game will result in a fresh objective being assigned to you rather than desynchronisation, a big plus in my opinion. I might as well fail all the eavesdrop missions to see what happens next. It's one of the biggest AC Black Flag Resynced new features in my opinion.

Seamless Transition When Entering Cities and Locations

This may be more like a personal preference, but a seamless transition when entering certain cities or locations is a big change for me. Having a loading screen when docking the Jackdaw in Havana or Kingston did take away from the experience. It reminded me I was in a virtual simulation, but the new seamless transitions will help the world feel more alive.

New Dynamic Weather System

AC Black Flag Resynced will likely build on the original release's immersive weather system. From water spouts in the seas to the thunderstorms in Havana, an overall revamp using the franchise's latest game engine will definitely enhance the experience. The rain was especially noticeable in the original Black Flag, both when on the Jackdaw or in a city. It remains to be seen how much better Ubisoft will do in the upcoming release.

Additional Content I'm Excited About

Ubisoft partnered with Brian Tyler on the original AC: Black Flag soundtrack. While the game is retaining most of the classic tracks, they announced a new partnership. Woodkid Assassin's Creed return will see the French music video director take up the mantle for the remake. It already excites me about the new Sea Shanties players might get to see.
