Brawl Stars Brawl Pass rework

Summary

  • The Brawl Stars Brawl Pass rework introduces new pricing, extra tiers, and player-controlled Vault rewards for deeper seasonal progression.
  • Vault Keys and Chaos Drops replace pure randomness, giving players more choice and higher-value rewards each season.
  • With extended tiers, Tail Rewards, and upgraded drops, the new Brawl Pass offers more content and flexibility than ever before.

Supercell has introduced one of the most important progression updates ever in Brawl Stars through the December 2025 Update (Update 65). The whole seasonal system has been overhauled with a new pricing model, longer progression, and a variety of reward systems that focus on the players' choices on what they want to earn each season.

Brawl Stars Brawl Pass Rework: New Pricing, Extra Tiers, and Better Value

The Brawl Pass has been a central point of player growth in Brawl Stars right from the start, and this update gives it a new look with extra options and layers. Supercell has rolled out Vaults, Vault Keys, Chaos Drops, and upgraded Tail Rewards, in addition to extending the length of each season overall.

New Prices

The reorganization comes with a price jump:

  • Brawl Pass: $8.99 USD
  • Brawl Pass Plus: $12.99 USD

(Prices might differ depending on the region.)

The price hike caused a lot of discussions in the community, but Supercell is maintaining that the larger reward pool and the new systems combined give players a better value overall. Moreover, players were allowed to buy a maximum of eight future Brawl Passes at the old price before January 1, 2026, as a limited-time option.

Ten Additional Progression Tiers

Now every season consists of 10 additional tiers, which not only prolong the grind but also give out rewards that are way bigger. Things that were once only obtainable in the top tiers like titles and chroma skins, are now accessible to a larger audience. The free and paid tracks have become more rewarding compared to the previous system, thereby making the whole process of progression feel more significant everywhere.

Vaults and Vault Keys

With‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ the Brawl Stars Brawl Pass rework, the Vault system is by far one of the major changes that aims at lessening the dependence on pure RNG and providing more control to players regarding their unlocks.

Types of Vault Keys

Vault Key categories differ in four ways:

  • Resource Keys: They open coin, power point, or bling chests. These are obtainable on the free track.
  • Skin Keys: Open Skin Vaults consisting of one skin and two chromas. 1 key: Brawl Pass skins of the current season and 2 keys: Brawl Pass skins of previous ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌seasons.

Brawler Keys

Unlock brawlers by rarity:

  • 1 key: Epic.
  • 2 keys: Mythic.
  • 3 keys: Legendary.
  • 4 keys: Ultra Legendary.

Buffie Keys

  • Unlock Buffies, a new seasonal power-up that enhances progression.

Skin, Brawler, and Buffie Keys are mainly found on paid tracks, with increased access through Brawl Pass Plus.

Tail Rewards and Chaos Drops Explained

After completing the main pass, players now earn Tail Rewards instead of guaranteed Starr Drops. Every 2,800 XP grants a random reward from a large pool that includes:

  • Demonic Drops.
  • Angelic Drops.
  • Sushi Rolls.
  • Mecha Boxes.
  • Boom Boxes.
  • Chaos Drops.
  • Coins, Power Points, and Credits.

Players can also spend Gems to upgrade Tail Rewards, increasing the chance of higher-quality loot, including Vault Keys.

What Are Chaos Drops?

Chaos‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Drops are the next-gen version of Starr Drops, with rarities going from Super Rare to Ultra Rare a brand-new top tier. They have the capability to divide into two, four, or even eight identical rewards, so gamers can get as many as eight Ultra Rare rewards in one single instance of the game.

An Ultra Rare Chaos Drop will always have at least one item from the following:

  • Hypercharges.
  • Mythic, Legendary, or Ultra Legendary brawlers.
  • Rare to high skins.
  • Buffies.

Chaos Drops are available through daily wins and the Brawl ‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌Pass.

With the December 2025 update, seasonal progression has been completely re-imagined. Although it is still debatable whether or not this update can justify the increased cost of the Brawl Pass for Brawl Stars, it does provide deeper progression systems, more relevant rewards and better options for players to choose what type of "seasonal experience" they want.

Additionally, the Brawl Stars Daily Brawlidays Gifts have been added, allowing players to collect more free rewards during the holidays. Additionally, players can now utilise Vault Targeting, Chaos Drops and multiple tiers to further customise their seasonal progression than ever before.
