Table of content

This December, Brawl Stars is about to announce one of its biggest shifts ever, along with a huge update focused on improving how players progress through the game while also adding greater depth of gameplay.

With the introduction of the Hypercharges, this update marks Supercell's first opportunity to introduce a new type of permanent progression with Buffies, as well as a new way of earning Starr Drops and providing various kinds of economy-wide buffs that affect all aspects of Brawl Stars.

Buffies: The New Power System Arriving in Brawl Stars New Update December 2025

Instead of just adding a new Power Level 12, Brawl Stars is adding an entirely new system called Buffies. This new system will provide a small but impactful upgrade to all Gadgets, Star Powers and Hypercharges.

Every brawler will get three Buffies (one for each of the previously mentioned systems) when the Buffies go live, which are not new buttons or a complicated mechanic but just enhancements to existing abilities you already have with them, adding new uses, increased skill expression and new interactions within a match.

Buffies can be obtained through a new "Claw Machine" system that costs 1000 coins and 2000 power points per attempt to get one buffie. Each Claw Machine will only provide pulls on six different brawlers (for a total of 18 unique Buffies), and your first attempt to obtain a buffie after unlocking the feature at 1000 trophies is free.

In addition, Buffies will be available for purchase directly with Gems if you prefer that route. Once you collect all of the buffies in a specific claw machine, you will then be able to buy Buffie-only cosmetic skins using Bling.

Because of this new Buffie System, all Brawlers who receive Buffies will have their current Epic and Mythic Gears removed, and their costs will be added to their accounts as refunds when their replacement system goes live.

Also, with the Buffie System, certain Gadgets will now have an aim assist option, providing additional opportunities for very high-skill players to make more advanced plays, without interfering with the casual players' control settings.

Colt and Spike Reworks with Buffies

As part of the new Buffie system just announced, Colt and Spike had their kits redesigned to fit it. For example, Colt's gadget allows him to steal ammo from other players with his Buffed gadget; he also receives speed bursts and has a longer Hypercharge activation window.

For Spike, he gains the ability to plant roots, a larger area of effect on his attacks, and he will explode twice on Hypercharge. While these examples do not increase stats directly, they will help create more flexible, responsive and exciting abilities.

Not all brawlers will receive Buffs at this time. However, six different brawlers are included in this initial release. More Brawlers will receive them soon after this release

Here's everything about the Brawl Pass in the Brawl Stars update:

How Much Does Brawl Pass Cost

Supercell has totally redesigned the Brawl Pass Plus price. Both the free and premium Brawl Pass tracks will now provide increased value to players. Pricing changes effective in January:

  • Brawl Pass: $8.99
  • Brawl Pass Plus: $12.99

(Brawl Pass Plus price varies by region).

Now players have an answer to the question: "How Much Does Brawl Pass Cost?"

What are Keys?

The revised Brawl Pass will provide Keys for the first time. Keys are a new form of currency used for unlocking special vaults. Each Key represents one of four categories: Resources, Brawlers, Skins and Buffies.

Brawl Pass Features

New features have been introduced with the latest update to the Brawl Pass: Titles, Brawl Pass skins, Chromas, and Keys are now available in Normal Brawl Pass. Brawl Pass Plus gives you more Keys than you will need to unlock the Seasonal Skins and Chromas each season; it also includes more Gems.

Daily Tail Rewards System Changes

The Daily Tail Rewards system has also benefited from a significant upgrade! Daily Tails cost 2800 XP each and come from higher-value boxes than before. All of your Rewards now come from these higher-value boxes, including: Demon Drops, Sushi Rolls, Chaos Drops, and more. You can also upgrade the Daily Tails for Gems in this Brawl Stars update.

Chaos Drops in Brawl Stars update

With the December update comes a new style of high rarity called Chaos Drops, the largest ever to enter the game. They offer up to 8 splits that all yield the same upgraded rarity. The new Ultra rarity will only feature in Chaos Drops. They can contain:

  • Mythic & Legendary Brawlers
  • Ultra Brawlers
  • Buffies
  • Random Hypercharges
  • Epic, Mythic, or Legendary Skins

If you find an Ultra Chaos Drop that splits into eight parts, there is a minimal chance you could receive 8 Ultra rewards at the same time. You can expect to receive Chaos Drops through the new Brawl Pass, as well as randomly on your Daily Wins starting in January and through some of the special events.

Brawl Stars New Update December 2025: Global Economy Buff

Brawl Stars is buffing its economic system globally.

  • The Early Trophy Road reward system caps at 25,000 trophies.
  • More possible Chaos Drop Wins per day.
  • According to the new Mega Quests from two seasons ago, there are now three Mega Quests every season. One of those is the new Omega Mega Quest.
  • Power Points in the Shop now cost half as much (only ten Power Points for 1 Gem).

Although Hypercharges have slowed, Buffies and the improved economy mean you will always find new goals to pursue. Meanwhile, consider checking out everything we covered about the Brawl Stars November 25 patch notes.
