COD Warzone Season 02 Reloaded Patch Notes: Black Ops Royale Redefines Warzone Combat

The COD Warzone Season 02 Reloaded Patch Notes introduce a major gameplay shift for Call of Duty: Warzone. The update adds Black Ops Royale, a mode focused on exploration and in-match progression on the Avalon map from Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.

Black Ops Royale releases 100 operators into Quads on Avalon, which contains urban areas and multiple interior spaces and water bodies and long-distance combat areas. A coastal town landing squad will advance through the narrow streets until they reach the uncovered bridge points which allow VS Recon sniper rifles to control all sightlines.

The game removes its traditional mechanics which include Loadouts and Buy Stations and cash systems. Weapons develop through a rarity system which serves as their evolution mechanism. The Common MXR-17 starts with one attachment but the upgraded Legendary version which contains five attachments from Weapon Attachment Kits throughout the map shows improved recoil control and optics and extended magazines.

Movement and Traversal

The update establishes mobility as a central element for its implementation. Players use Wingsuits for their first deployment because these suits enable them to glide over long distances. Operators in close-quarters combat can use Wall Jumps to connect different movement techniques which allow them to access balconies or flee through alleyways.

The new Grappling Hook tactic adds vertical mobility. The squad needs to grapple from a nearby building because they want to push a rooftop sniper instead of using staircases.

Health, Armor, and Survival Systems

Starting with 150 points of base health and three armor slots, operators can stand up to the intense firing rate, which the looted equipment limits.

• Armor Vests provide damage mitigation ranging from 25% to 50%.
• Trauma Kits fully heal players and temporarily increase health to 250 HP.

Before embarking on a close-range face-off near the Cradle Break, players often use a Trauma Kit to ensure survival during high-damage confrontations.
Redeployment systems see updates through new changes. Every operator starts the game with a Redeploy Token that enables them to return after they get eliminated. Teams can capture Redeploy Towers to bring back their eliminated squadmates without using any tokens.

Activities and Cradle Breaches

The players throughout the map encounter Activities which serve as their primary gameplay elements instead of standard contracts. The following examples demonstrate this point:

• Surveillance Drone hunts, where destroying the drone reveals nearby objectives.
• Strongbox Crack events, requiring Safecracker Drives while broadcasting the squad’s position on radar.
• Relay Antenna captures, granting a radar scan and deploying a Redeploy Drone.

The Cradle Breaches allow players to fight against zombies while they search for top-level equipment. The Exotic Weapon which has eight attachments can be obtained by defeating all enemies who appear near the Mystery Box.

COD Warzone Season 02 Weapons, Gear, and Balance Changes
