Here's How to Complete the Clash of Clans Portal Challenge: Step-by-Step Guide

Supercell just released a new Challenge Level in CoC for the Clash-O-Ween season, giving players a chance to try out the new Portal Pendant Equipment. The Clash of Clans Portal Challenge will be running from October 6 to October 13, available to every Town Hall level.

The challenge lets players use the season's temporary troops and offers Gems and one Hero Potion upon completion. The new Portal challenge revolves around the Minion Prince's new Portal Pendant, which can teleport the Hero and surrounding allied troops back to the deployment bar for another attack. In this guide, we will discuss how to complete the CoC Portal Challenge easily and get three stars.

Clash of Clans Portal Challenge Overview

Similar to most CoC Challenge Levels, the Clash of Clans Portal Challenge can look overwhelming on first entering. However, the base becomes much easier to handle with the correct deployment order and understanding the mechanism behind the Portal Pendant.

The Portal Challenge has been introduced specifically to let players test the new Portal Pendant before it becomes available through the Portal Panic Medal Event. Coming as one of the main Clash of Clans Clash-O-Ween Events, the equipment can be obtained using Rift Medals, with the event running from October 8 to October 25.

Additionally, players can also experiment with the new temporary troop, Totem Thrower. The Totem Thrower attacks ground targets from six tiles away and periodically throws a totem that stuns nearby defenses while creating a Tiny Totem to absorb damage.

How to Complete the Portal Challenge in Clash of Clans?

The CoC Portal Challenge is all about using the Portal Pendant correctly and keeping enough troops alive for the second phase of the attack. Start the attack by following the deployment shown in the challenge walkthrough and let the first troops walk into the base. Deploy the Minion Prince with supporting troops to allow the Portal Pendant to affect more than one unit.

Once the first wave has created enough value inside the base, activate the Portal Pendant at the correct moment. The Equipment teleports the Minion Prince and surrounding allied troops back to the deployment bar, allowing them to be used again.

Then comes the most important part of the challenge. Do not activate the Equipment very early, as doing so can reduce the value of the initial push. You should wait until the troops have cleared a crucial section of the base and are ready to be used again. Place the troops again from the other side of the base after the troops return to the deployment bar.

This second deployment of troops should help finish the remaining defenses and buildings. You should continue using the available troops and spells as the attack progresses. The key to getting three stars is ensuring that the Portal Pendant is used to create a strong second push instead of protecting the Minion Prince from damage.

Once the remaining defenses are cleared, the attack should comfortably reach the three-star result. Completing the Clash of Clans Portal Challenge offers you 400 XP, 25x Gems, and 1x Hero Potion.
