What is the CS2 Animgraph2 Beta?

On April 2, Valve announced that the Counter-Strike 2 animation system had been updated to Animgraph 2 in a beta build. The primary objective of the beta was to reduce CPU and Networking costs directly relative to animations. These are all the highlights of the update:

1. All third-person animations were reauthored and adjusted according to player feedback.

2. In-air crouching transitions in first and third-person were smoothed.

   The logic adjusting player height on slopes was refactored.

3. Player heights on ramps were made consistent. They no longer depend on the approach direction.
4. Grenade lineups on sloped surfaces might have changed in this beta.

How to Opt into CS2 Animgraph 2 Beta?

Counter-Strike 2 beta depots allow both game developers and users to test changes. Most of them are not made available to the public version and require polishing. That said, here's how you can opt into the Animgraph2 CS2 Beta:

1. The primary step requires you to open the Steam client and navigate to your library.
2. Net, you must open the Manage menu and click on ‘properties’, visible on the Counter-Strike 2 page.
3. Select the ‘Betas’ option and choose the one you want to opt into.
4. Launch the game, and the Beta version should now be activated.
