How to Get the Praxic Blade in Destiny 2?
To get the Destiny 2 Praxic Blade, you’ll need to play through the Fire and Ice Exotic Mission. This mission becomes available once you reach Step 33 of the Renegades questline. When you hit that step, the game will ask you to visit the Praxic Temple alongside Aunor. Doing this automatically launches the Fire and Ice mission, and completing it is how you earn the Destiny 2 Praxic Blade.

Once the mission begins, just follow the main path forward until you reach Firebase Imperator. When you get inside, take down Val Cal’ric, the Door Technician. He’ll drop the Imperium Door Codes.
Pick up the codes and use them at the nearby console to open the Blast Doors. Head through, and you’ll end up in the Courtyard, where a group of Taken enemies will attack. Clear them out, then step through the portal and grab the Imbalanced Octant. From there, look toward the middle of the room. Climb up and enter the central pillar to continue moving forward. One must note that this sword is not a part of the Destiny 2 dawning 2025 rewards.

Reaching the Puzzle

Keep moving forward while staying close to the wall, then take a left along the narrow ledge. When you hit a dead end, look up; you’ll see platforms you can jump up to keep going along the wall.
Just before the main locked doors, take another left to enter a small cave. As soon as you’re inside, turn right to reach the next room. At the back of this room, you’ll see rocks you can climb all the way up to the ceiling. Go inside from there and follow the path until you reach a big drop, which leads you deeper into the puzzle area.

Once you land on the ground, you’ll come across a tricky section with several gates. The floor will start collapsing as soon as you step on it, so you need to move quickly. Only one gate is real at each step; the others are just illusions.
To get through safely, go through the second gate on the right, then the first gate on the right, followed by the third gate on the left wall in the right room. After that, take the first gate on the left, then the second gate on the left. This will lead you out of the gate area, after which you’ll climb up and move through a cave to continue.

Reaching the Next Puzzle

After finishing this part, start climbing up the broken debris along the walls until you reach the top. Up there, you’ll find a small platform that lets you crouch-walk back above the room you just rushed through. Stay to the right side while moving along the ceiling. Eventually, you’ll spot a hole in the wall and go through it to reach the next puzzle area, which is a room packed with Taken Hobgoblins.
From here, make a jump over to the larger platform ahead. Below you, you’ll spot a stone tower. Drop down onto its base and head inside. Start climbing up the tower, but don’t go all the way to the very top. Instead, stop at the platform just below it. When you look out through the window there, you’ll notice a couple of upside-down pillars.
Jump across to those, and you’ll find a spot where you can place the Imbalanced Octant to move on. Once you’ve used the Imbalanced Octant, head up the stairs and step through the portal. This will take you into a new area, where you’ll immediately notice a large white orb floating above the space.
How to Solve the Puzzle

You’ll run into two different types of Centurions here: Cleaved Imperium and Taken. Which one you defeat first matters because it decides the buff you get and the type of energy orbs that drop. If you take out the Cleaved Imperium Centurion first, you’ll gain the Barant Energy Cleaved buff. If you defeat the Taken Centurion first instead, you’ll get the Taken Energy Cleaved buff.
The order you kill them in also affects the colour of the orb that appears. Killing Imperium first and then Taken gives you a black orb. Killing Imperium both times, or Taken first and then Imperium rewards you with a white orb. If you kill Taken both times, you’ll end up with another black orb.

Above the arena, you’ll see four spheres hanging in the air, two white and two black. What you need to do here is match the orbs that drop from enemies with the correct spheres. If you pick up a white orb, throw it at one of the white spheres. If you get a black orb, toss it at a black sphere.
The important thing to watch out for is balance.
If you keep feeding orbs into just one sphere, it will overload, and you’ll have to start this part again. To avoid that, spread the orbs out evenly. Try not to let there be more than a two-orb difference between any two spheres. The white spheres are linked to each other, and the black spheres work the same way, but white and black don’t affect one another.
Also, throwing the wrong colour orb at a sphere won’t do anything, so make sure you’re matching them correctly.
Final Steps for How to Get Praxic Blade Destiny 2
- Once all the spheres are filled, head to the centre of the arena and interact with the object there to calibrate the Octant.
- This will open a portal back to where you entered. Go through it, and the world will flip upside down.
- From there, jump to the doorway directly across from the portal; that’s where the Disciple of Harrow boss fight begins.
- Once you defeat the Disciple of Harrow, you’ll be automatically teleported to the Praxic Vault. In the centre of the room, you’ll see a sword stand.
- Walk up to it and interact with it to finally claim the Destiny 2 Praxic Blade.
