FIFA 2K Licensed Leagues and Clubs Leaked

Summary

  • Leaks suggest that 2K Interactive's upcoming soccer game will feature FIFA-licensed leagues and clubs, creating buzz among football fans.

  • FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that FIFA will be partnering with new developers for a future football game, raising expectations for a new virtual football experience.

While every other football lover is still engaged with daily content in EA FC, rumors from a known leaker, ReFIFA, have spilt some beans on 2K Interactive's latest soccer title. And rightly so, we have a few FIFA 2K Licensed Leagues and Clubs Leaked.

As FIFA President Gianni Infantino highlighted that they'll be developing a new football game with new partners, so there's a huge possibility that we'll get our hands on the latest virtual football soon. On that note, let's see what FIFA 2K Licensed Leagues and Clubs leaked so far.

FIFA 2K Licensed Leagues and Clubs Leaked: What can we expect?

Matt McKiem, the vice president of marketing at 2K Interactive, has recently posted about starting a new chapter in the company, while assembling a team with a fresh vision for the franchise. This was enough for the netizens to get excited, especially for those who were already devastated after the split-up between FIFA and EA Sports.

ReFIFA has spilt some beans on FIFA 2K Licensed Leagues, and Clubs Leaked so far. There's a huge possibility that very few professional clubs will be a part of the new football title because of the licensing restrictions. That being said, let's take a look at what information we got so far:

Premier League

EA Sports has an exclusive multi-year partnership with the Premier League. As a result, FIFA 2K won't be able to add the English domestic tournament as a licensed league. And moreover, they also have to add a different logo for copyright reasons.

Coming to the professional clubs, big-shots, such as Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Spurs, also have an exclusive partnership with EA FC 26. Similar to the league, 2K won't be able to use EA-licensed clubs, crests, and official kits.

Meanwhile, EA's licensing isn't the problem here. Teams like Manchester United and Arsenal also have a multi-year partnership with Konami. Hence, 2K will have to add the aforementioned clubs under the unlicensed category.

Regardless of such drawbacks, leaks also suggest that FIFA 2K has a major chance to add new long-term partners such as Newcastle United, West Ham United, or any other mid-table clubs.

Ligue 1 McDonald's

Similar to the Premier League, Ligue 1 McDonald's also has a multi-year partnership with EA Sports. Hence, FIFA 2K's luck does not seem to be on their side here as well. However, that won't be an issue since the deal is not exclusive to either Konami or EA FC.

As a result, 2K can also sign a multi-year partnership with all 18 Ligue 1 teams. However, there's a catch. Since OS Maerseille and PSG have an exclusive deal with EA FC 26 and future titles, FIFA 2K can't add their stadiums due to licensing purposes. While EA FC has gone for all the big shots, it allows 2K to go for the smaller but compact fish in the sea, such as AS Monaco and LOSC Lille.

LaLiga

2K Interactive doesn't have any luck adding LaLiga, too, due to an exclusive multi-year agreement of the Spanish league with EA Sports. Hence, there's a huge possibility that this league will be added under the unlicensed banner.
Meanwhile, both Madrids (Real Madrid and Atletico) also have multi-year partnerships, ensuring their availability across all EA FC future titles. Hence, these two aforementioned clubs can be added under the unlicensed banner.

The same goes for Barcelona, too, due to their exclusive agreement with Konami. Considering the licensing category, it seems that no LaLiga clubs can be included in a licensed manner for the 2K soccer title.

Bundesliga

Coming to the German domestic league, EA Sports has an exclusive agreement with EA FC titles, too. It means, unfortunately, the Bundesliga won't be a part of the 2K football title. Meanwhile, teams such as Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund have official licensing partnerships with EA Sports and Konami, respectively. Hence, teams like VfB Stuttgart, Wolfsburg are available to be officially licensed under 2K's banner.

Serie A

Similar to every other league, Serie A has an exclusive agreement with EA Sports. Hence, no luck for 2K Interactive, too. Meanwhile, big shots like AS Roma, SSC Napoli, and Juventus have an official agreement with EA Sports. On the other hand, AC Milan, SS Lazio, Atalanta BC, and Inter have an exclusive agreement with Konami. Hence, 2K can target small names such as Bologna, Udinese, and others.

Other Leagues

Now the question arises that, as most major leagues around Europe have an exclusive agreement with the EA franchise, what's there for FIFA 2K? Well, fortunately enough, small leagues such as Eredivisie, Liga Portugal, Trendyol Super Lig, and Scottish Prem aren't in multi-year agreements with giants like EA Sports or Konami. Hence, 2K Interactive should capitalize on that to build the hype around true football fans.

That's all we have on FIFA 2K Licensed Leagues and Clubs Leaked. We'll make sure to release a separate detailed article once we get some official information regarding 2K Interactive's new vision on Sports games.
