Free Fire OB54 Balance Changes Bring Big Changes to Characters and Weapons

The Free Fire OB54 balance update from Garena involves massive alterations to both the characters and weapons. While some of the strongest skills have been nerfed, others have been upgraded. The OB54 Patch Notes Free Fire mainly aims at achieving a balanced meta in which there will be many useful characters and weapons for players to use in the game.

Free Fire OB54 Character Balance Changes Explained

The new changes Free Fire OB54 will primarily be aimed at balancing those heroes who have been overperforming in their respective ranks. In addition, some less-used heroes will receive buffs to become more useful for players.

Nero

Nero's ability to prevent Gloo Wall placement made it difficult for opponents to fight back. To balance him, the damage inside Dreamy Space has been reduced from 10 HP to 6 HP per second. His plushie can also be destroyed much more easily, with its HP lowered from 150 to just 1.

Chrono

Chrono is no longer as dominant as he was in earlier metas. To make him more useful, the cooldown of Time Turner has been reduced from 60 seconds to 45 seconds. His shield still blocks up to 1000 damage and remains active for 10 seconds.

Maro

Maro has become a popular choice for long-range combat because of his strong damage bonus. To balance the character, his maximum distance-based damage boost has been reduced from 25% to 20%.

Oscar

Oscar's skill can be used to attack enemies, escape danger, rotate across the map, and destroy Gloo Walls. To balance his effectiveness, the cooldown of Valiant Dash has been increased from 45 seconds to 60 seconds. The skill can still destroy up to three Gloo Walls and knock enemies down.

Nikita

Nikita's reload speed bonus has been especially strong when used with shotguns like the M1887. To balance this, her reload speed increase has been reduced from 30% to 20%.

Olivia

Olivia has been unable to compete with other support roles for a long period of time. In order to make Olivia more powerful, the healing she shares with other members in the vicinity has been boosted from 80% to 90%. Her healing range has been raised from 15 meters to 20 meters.

• Accuracy increased by 5%

M590

• Headshot falloff range increased by 15%
• Weapon Switch Speed increased by 20%
• Weapon rarity changed to Gold tier

M82B

• Damage increased by 6%
• Armor Penetration increased by 10%
• Range increased by 20%

• Weapon rarity changed to Gold tier

Free Fire OB54 Brings Major Changes to Weapon Availability

Free Fire OB54 balance changes will make some weapons easier to obtain than others. The MP40, PARAFAL, M590, and M82B will be more abundant and can be found via arsenals, Vending Machines, and High-Tier Loot Zones.

Clash Squad weapon prices have been adjusted in the Free Fire balance changes. The M1887 and Woodpecker are now cheaper, but the PARAFAL and M590 have become expensive. Additionally, M24-III has been removed and replaced with M24-II.

Additional Weapon Adjustments

The latest balance update also includes changes to utility and melee weapons. The Shield Gun no longer blocks 100% of incoming damage. Instead, it now has unlimited shield durability and reduces incoming damage by 5%. Players can now attack while running, making the melee weapon more useful during close-range fights.
