Garena has recently enabled its Free Fire Play It Right system in Free Fire Max across India from August 4. It introduces new rules for playtime, OTP verification, spending limits, and break reminders.

The new Play It Right system aims to help players manage their gaming time and spending, especially among the younger section of users. The changes are already active, so players can already notice the changes while playing the game.

Free Fire Play It Right Introduces Age-Based Gameplay Limits

Free Fire Play It Right sets a daily playtime limit, based on the player’s age. If you are not 18, you may spend up to three hours a day playing the game, whereas the limit is six hours a day for adults. The daily playtime limit is calculated within 24 hours. When your limit is reached, you will have to wait until the next cycle, which is the next day.

Free Fire Play It Right Makes OTP Verification Mandatory for Players

OTP Verification is now mandatory, and players have to link their Free Fire account to a registered mobile number.

• For all users: The OTP verification process applies to players, both minors and adults.
• Consider age: The age set at the time of OTP verification will determine the playtime.
• Guardian’s Assistance: If the user is below 18, they have to seek parental guidance or support.
• Do not bypass restrictions: Using a mobile number from another player to avoid restrictions is not an approved method.

Free Fire Introduces a ₹7,000 Daily Spending Limit

Garena has also introduced a ₹7,000 daily spending limit for in-game purchases as part of the Free Fire Play It Right campaign. This includes Diamond top-ups and other transactions made in Free Fire. If a player reaches the ₹7,000 limit through multiple purchases, they will not be able to spend more until the limit resets.

This rule can be useful when younger players have access to their parents' payment methods and make purchases without their consent or realising how much they are spending. Players or account holders may also receive payment alerts, making it easier to notice unexpected or suspicious transactions.

Free Fire Play It Right Event Adds Break Reminders

Additionally, there are also break reminders for players who have been grinding for hours. Players can get a break reminder after two hours of playtime.

They are allowed to continue playing the game if there is still time left before reaching the daily playtime limit. With Free Fire x Naruto Shippuden returning, players may stick to the game for even longer periods.

Key Changes Young Players Should Know About Free Fire’s New Rules

The Play It Fair Free Fire Event is now live, bringing new verification and gameplay controls for players. It's different from other Free Fire New Events, as it does not incorporate additional missions or rewards; instead, it helps control playing time, spending, and the account verification process.

From my perspective, the spending limit and break notifications are very good tools, especially for families. Even though some users might find restrictions on playing time based on age groups too strict, they still allow for controlled playing sessions.
