3 min
Goals Beta Update

Summary

  • GOALS Open beta is scheduled to go live on March 13, 2026.
  • The developers have only focused on the competitive side of the title, promising no lag, no script, and no other excuses.
  • This article delves a bit more into the gameplay and how to join the open beta.

GOALS, a Sweden-based Indie game development studio, is paving its way into the football games industry with its flagship title, GOALS of the same name. The developers have promised a competitive football experience free from lag and scripting.

Initially starting as a 1v1 arena demo during 2022, GOALS has evolved into a full-fledged football simulation. The developers have announced GOALS Open Beta for the community to experience the new football title. The open beta is starting on March 13, 2026, and let's take a look at how to join the test.

Developers Promise the Best Competitive Football Title with Goals Gameplay

GOALS promises full cross-platform support, bringing lag-free, free-to-play football gaming with better responsive controls. A recent X post from @PlayGOALS has finally notified the community about its open beta phase. Judging from the gameplay trailer, GOALS gameplay mechanics look quite similar to EA FC with a slightly different UI.

Players can participate in both 1v1 quick-play and competitive matches and even Solo Tournaments. The upcoming open beta phase will feature both 1v1 and 5v5 modes. Additionally, the devs have also added the possibility of introducing 11v11 clubs mode during the global release, with a mobile version in development as well. It's yet to be seen if GOALS can rival the likes of EA FC and eFootball in today's industry. With the recent FC 26 Player Count Drop, new titles such as UFL, Rematch, and GOALS can be the answer to modern football games.
