If you're looking to borrow the GTA 6 CD version from friends and family members, you might have to wait for a few more months. Shortly after Rockstar Games opened the pre-orders for the open-world title, it faced severe backlash. The American video game giants came up with a unique idea of sending codes on the physical editions, instead of a CD. Therefore, there are no chances for you to get physical discs from the 2nd hand market.

Meanwhile, Rockstar has already hinted at a physical copy release in their official message from the support team. So, they didn't completely rule out the idea of releasing a CD version. Apparently, many sources cited that it's likely to be available in the holiday season (December 2026). Therefore, let's take a look at the current condition of the GTA 6 physical copy and what the options are for you to purchase it second-hand.

Will GTA 6 Have a Physical Disc

As discussed, Rockstar Games hasn't included the GTA 6 CD version in their physical edition. Instead of the discs, the company is providing codes so that members can claim them on their PSN and Xbox accounts. Basically, they ditched the good old idea of producing CDs in a physical version. Several netizens claimed that the company doesn't want its consumers to resell the game at a lower price. Rockstar, however, has made no such official statements from their end.
