Honkai Star Rail Update: Release Date, Livestream and New Features

Honkai Star Rail had a very successful year with the Amphoreus Arc, where they introduced some of the best-written characters of the game, and we all will be missing them while moving forward to the next explorable region, Planarcadia. The upcoming region will also introduce a new playable Path, which will be Elation.

When is the next Honkai Star Rail Update?

HoYoverse has a strict policy of following the 6-week cycle for most of its games. However, due to the recent political conflict between China and Japan, the current HSR version 3.8 has been extended to 8 weeks, instead of the regular pattern. So the upcoming Honkai Star Rail version 4.0 is expected to be released around 25-26 February.

Due to a sudden change in the banner period, the upcoming version dates may be different, but they should be around this period. In the upcoming version, HoYoverse is going to release two new Elation characters, Yao Guang and Sparxie. They will be limited 5-star units, so if you are planning to get either Yao Guang or Sparxie, then you'd better start pre-farming those level-up materials, at least the ones that are currently available.

What will be in the next Honkai Star Rail update?

As per leaks, we will be traveling to the new region, Planarcadia, in the upcoming 4.0v of Honkai Star Rail update. Apart from a new explorable region, we will get two new 5-star characters who will be following the Path of Elation, the newest playable Path in Star Rail. Apart from these two, a few old characters will also be getting SP version from their previous playable Path, more on that in the later parts.

Some older characters like Black Swan and Sparkle are also expected to get direct buffs to their kit, so that they can be more reliable in the future meta. Version 4.0 of Honkai Star Rail seems to be full of exciting content and challenges, but unfortunately, we would have to wait for the official stream to be assured of these future upgrades.
