Lol March 2026 Dev Update Riot’s Highlights Ranked Changes

The League of Legends development team has just announced its latest Lol March 2026 Dev Update, which sets the tone for competition, champions, and game modes. During the briefing, Paul Bellezza, Andrei Van Roon, and Ed Zhao shared their thoughts on how the changes implemented in Season 1 have been performing.

Season 1 Gameplay Direction and Balance Monitoring

The developers say that most early-season changes have met their goals after several rounds of adjustments. The balance around systems related to Faelights is closely monitored, particularly around role power curve balance. The performance of ADC and the top lane continues to receive attention because data shows performance spikes during specific matchups.

Shyvana Gameplay and Visual Update

Riot has worked closely with experienced Shyvana players to keep what defines her while fixing long-standing gameplay and visual issues. ARAM: Mayhem and Live Mode Support

Match Quality and Queue Times

Ranked Ladder and MMR Adjustments

Ranked play has been completely redesigned to provide players with a more consistent method of attaining rank. The purpose of the Iron rank is to allow inexperienced players to have an opportunity to reach Bronze, while allowing experienced players to have a legitimate way to get to Diamond. As such, the Diamond ranks have been split into two separate ranks, and players who were currently in a Diamond rank have been promoted to Master. Masters will require additional League Points to achieve the highest rank (Master).

There will be a new character that will be introduced in Season 2, which will be connected with the theme of this season and the last one.
