This new gameplay mode caters to players looking for huge wars or large-scale fight experiences. Say goodbye to regular 6v6 match types and make way for a full-on 36 Player war! Here's a Marvel Rivals 18v18 Mode guide to know everything about this brand-new game mode.

Marvel Rivals Annihilation 18v18 mode is essentially a massive Team Deathmatch. It is a match between 2 teams of 18 heroes who compete to earn the most eliminations possible. There are points awarded for each kill, and the first team to reach 120 points wins. If at the end of 6 minutes, neither team has reached 120 points, then the team with the most points at that time is declared winner.

The Annihilation mode differs from many others in that there are no restrictions on what heroes can be used by each player on a team. For example, if you wanted to assemble an entire team of Doctor Stranges to recreate the portal scene from Avengers: Endgame, you can do that! In addition, the respawn times are fast, keeping up with the continuous action in every fight never going flat. The Grand Garden was created solely for 18v18 combat. It provides equal amounts of open space and confined corridors. For this reason, there are ample opportunities for long-range heroes to fight, as well as aggressive flankers to move through. As part of the ongoing hype around the Marvel Rivals Anniversary Celebration Event 2025, players have been diving deep into the massive 18v18 “Annihilation” mode.

With 36 players in play, Annihilation is a chaotic event; however, by utilising these tactics, your group will gain a tactical advantage.

  • Prioritize AoE Heroes: In a match with so many players, AoE attacks can decimate enemies. Characters such as Storm or Scarlet Witch possess the ability to change the course of battles in one use of their ultimate powers.
  • Protect Your Supports: Healers (e.g., Luna Snow, Rocket Raccoon) must be protected by a strong team of front-line characters. Your tanks must take damage while you are focused on keeping your team alive.
  • Use Ultimates Aggressively: Waiting for the opportune moment could cost you the match; instead, as quickly as possible, charge your ultimate powers and unleash them to kill multiple enemies.
  • Crowd Control Heroes: Crowd control characters (e.g., Jeff the Land Shark) can cause serious disruption to the enemy team, allowing your team to reform and take advantage of the opportunity to score upon the enemy team.
  • Coordinate Focus Fire: Follow your tanks/front line heroes for well-timed wipe outs to drastically change the course of the match instantly.
