Marvel Rivals Season 4 Roadmap: Release Date, New Hero Angela, Maps, and Upcoming Content

As Season 4 begins this September, Marvel Rivals is gearing up for one of its biggest updates yet. The official roadmap confirms that the update will expand hero and game modes in a meaningful way, with a host of content drops planned with new heroes and costumes, as well as arcade modes and maps.

Marvel Rivals Season 4 Release Date

Marvel Rivals Season 4, The Heart of the Dragon, is set to release on September 12, 2025, with the downtime starting at 9 AM UTC for a brief maintenance session. The servers will be offline for 2 to 3 hours, though the return time is subject to change by progress.

Once this update is out, the Season 3 phase has officially ended, and a new battle pass, a new hero, and many new grindable content items will be available.

New Hero: Angela Joins the Roster

The first new addition is Angela, the Asgardian warrior who finally hits the game as a playable hero. Angela is entering as a Vanguard, decked out in gold armor, and has the ability to dive right into enemy lines.

Players can unlock her Skuld 2099 launched costume when she comes out with an epic battle pass called Fruit of Immortality, which has a similar Asgardian theme.

• September 12: Angela lands with her first Skuld 2099 costume, the Fruit of Immortality battle pass, the Scroll of the Immortal Beasts event, and multiple new arcade modes, Free Fight and Conquest (Annihilation), and brings back some fan favorites, Clone Rumble and Giant-Size Brain Blast.
• September 19: The fan-favorite Marvel Rivals Swimsuit & Summer Special Vol. 2 event drops, with a new round of seasonal cosmetics.
• September 26: The new Convergence map, K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven, drops as well as Hela's The Grim Lady costume, and themed accessories from Magneto, Luna Snow, Scarlet Witch, and Cloak & Dagger.
• October 3: Emma Frost gets a slick new Hellfire Protocol outfit, adding to this expanding universe of alternate looks.
• October 10: The update transitions to Season 4.5, although we don't know anything more at this stage.

Arcade will have a major facelift this season. The addition of Free Fight (eliminating hero duplication limits) and Conquest (Annihilation) takes team play in a new direction.
