Nioh 3 Demo How to Play, Progress Carryover, and Rewards

Team Ninja has released a free public demo for Nioh 3, giving players access to early-game systems, combat mechanics, and character progression before the full release. The demo is available on PlayStation 5 and PC and supports save data transfer, allowing progress made during the demo to carry over to the complete game.

How to Download the Nioh 3 Demo

The Nioh 3 demo went live on January 29, 2026 and it will remain playable until February 15, 2026. Players who complete the demo before the end date unlock the Twin-Snake Helmet for the full game. The complete release of Nioh 3 is scheduled for February 6, 2026.

The Nioh 3 Demo can be downloaded on both supported platforms.

• On PS5: Open the PlayStation Store and search for Nioh 3. The demo cannot be found through search results so users must visit the game store page to access the demo through the three-dot menu. The PlayStation mobile application provides another method to add it. Players who want to create custom character designs can use Nioh 3 Character Codes to transfer distinctive character builds and gain access to specific equipment during the demo.
• On PC (Steam): Open Steam, search for Nioh 3, and select the demo download option from the official game page. Direct demo links are also available through Team Ninja’s official website.

An active internet connection is required, and offline play is not supported. Storage space should be checked before installation due to the download size.

What’s Included in the Nioh 3 Demo

The Nioh 3 Demo introduces its first chapter which includes character creation and lets players experience the initial missions and open-world exploration and complete boss fights. Players can equip multiple weapon types, unlock skills, and collect armor during this segment. The demo progress will transfer to the full game when played on the same platform and account. Character levels, equipment, and unlocked abilities remain intact after release.

Gameplay and Combat Highlights

Nioh 3 maintains its Ki combat system, which requires players to master timing and stamina management and enemy behavior patterns. The Nioh 3 Demo enables players to switch between Samurai and Ninja combat styles during live combat.

The Twin-Snake Helmet becomes available after you complete the Nioh 3 Demo before its deadline because the helmet transfers to the full game. The ability to transfer progress remains intact because players can still access progress after the reward period ends.
