Game Freak's newest project, Pandoland, is set to shut down its servers in a couple of months. The shocking news broke on the eve of the new year with an official announcement shared in-game. The game was very hyped upon its release, coming from the same developers as Pokémon. Pandoland is shutting down permanently on March 6, 2026. While the developers have been quite nonchalant about this, the community has been very vocal in letting their emotions be known.

Pandoland is a casual adventure role-playing game that was released on April 21, 2025. The game requires players to explore new places, make new companions who will assist them in fighting battles. The game took to its official X (formerly Twitter) handle to break the server termination announcement to the community. In addition, an in-game message was also delivered to all users about the last working date of the game.

The X announcement was shared on December 31, 2025, at 8:35 AM IST. The developers expressed their gratitude for all the love and support Pandoland received from the community, but had to make this tough decision.

Why Did Pandoland Shutdown?

While the makers didn't disclose anything regarding why they decided to shut the game, the community has been vocal about the possible reasons that played a major factor in leading up to this dreadful situation. Pandoland's content became increasingly stagnant over the months. The game drifted into a state of maintenance following the Rockman collaboration. The lack of content made the game mediocre, and many users left it then and there. There has been no official announcement regarding any kind of refund, so the bucks you invested are likely not to return.
