Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour: All You Need To Know

A new week is upon us in Pokemon GO. One of the biggest highlights of this week is the spotlight hour on Tuesday. With the Halloween event right around the corner, the Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour seems to be the right fit.

Ever since the introduction of the Halloween Event, Gastly has been a constant feature of the staple event. It has also been featured in a Community Day. However, not everyone had a chance to get a good IV gastly and farm candies of the species. The Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour is the perfect opportunity for them.

When was Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour announced?

In the October update, we already had the news on what all the spotlight hours of this month will be.

However, @FlareblazeA took it to their X to give the community a Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour reminder on 19th August, 2025, around 9:30 PM.

Given the easy evolutionary requirements and the popularity of Gengar in the game, it is understandable that the community is excited for Tuesday.

Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour: Event Bonuses

On 21st October from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, we will have the Pokemon GO Gastly Spotlight Hour. During this time, Gastly will be spawning more in the wild and in incense.

The event bonus during this time is 2x Catch XP. For every excellent throw, you can earn 4,000 XP. If you have a lucky egg on, that will turn into 4,000 XP. For everyone who is looking to earn XP to level up, this is a great opportunity for them.

Make sure to have a ghost or poison-type mega species as your buddy to earn extra candies and XL candies.

If you have a Palkia with special rend, don't forget to have it on.

For this year's Halloween event, Gastly is not a wild spawn. Therefore, the spotlight hour this Tuesday will be the best chance for trainers to catch the ghost/poison-type species.
