Real Racing 3 Shutdown Announced: Servers going offline in March 2026

The Real Racing 3 shutdown has officially been confirmed, which will end one of mobile gaming's most well-known racing games. EA Mobile announced it will discontinue services for Real Racing 3 after over a decade of service

The delisting will be completed in several phases that will allow players to have a few last months to play before the shutdown finally takes place and servers are permanently unavailable.

Real Racing 3 is Shutting Down after 12 Years

In a heartfelt announcement posted on the official Real Racing 3 social channels, the development team has confirmed that Real Racing 3 will reach its end after an impressive and lengthy twelve-year career.

Launched back in 2013, Real Racing 3 quickly established itself as setting a new standard for mobile racing games with its many features such as console-quality graphics, a large selection of licensed cars, and an asynchronous style of multiplayer play.

The decision to retire Real Racing 3 was made after much consideration by EA, and the team expressed their gratitude to all the people who have supported them over the past twelve years. They stated that it has been "an amazing experience" and they are looking forward to crossing the finish line together.

However, delisting does not mean immediate removal for existing users. If you have downloaded Real Racing 3 in the past, you can re-download it from your App Store or Google Play account history until March 19, 2026. Gameplay will remain available until the server shutdown date.

Real Racing 3 Shutdown Timeline Explained

To provide its existing players time to finish up their progress and use any of their in-game resources, the shutdown will take place in a series of phases.

December 18, 2025

• Real Racing 3 will be delisted from the App Store and Google Play for new users
• The app will no longer allow in-app purchases, which means no more purchases with real money.
• Existing players can still re-download Real Racing 3 from the app library.
• As compensation for being loyal to the game for a long time, all players will receive 1000 Gold and an Audi S1 e-tron quattro and Rimac Nevera as a final update.

March 19, 2026

• All servers will go offline.
• Real Racing 3 will no longer be playable.
• If you have any in-game currency that you have earned, it will no longer be usable at this point.
• If you already own any of the rewarded cars, you will receive extra Gold as compensation.

Looking back at Real Racing 3’s Legacy

Firemonkeys Studios was the primary developer of Real Racing 3, which received regular support from live service updates for an extended period (10+ years). After studio layoffs in 2023, all further development and support transitioned to EA's India-based Hyderabad studio.

Though there had been speculation regarding Real Racing 4, this sequel was later reported to be cancelled in 2019. Thus, Real Racing 3 remains as the last one.
