This was a low-scoring encounter, and the fans would have never thought that Royal Challengers Bengaluru would ever fail to chase a target of 140 runs. Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), while batting first, posted a total of 206/3, with KL Rahul scoring a brilliant century. He played a knock of 132 runs.

RCB did not have a good start as they were 57/5. They could not keep up the momentum. Wickets kept falling at regular intervals, and with a sensational display of bowling from the Punjab bowlers, the Bengaluru batters had no answer, and they were bundled out for just 109 runs. RCB, after batting first, had the worst possible start as half the team was back in the pavilion for just 52 runs. They were struggling to get past the 100-run mark. However, scored 105/10. In their 20 overs. Amit Singh led the charge for the Rajasthan Royals and bundled out RCB for a low score at Centurion. Robin Uthappa was the highest scorer with a score of 17.

RR chased down the target easily with 7 wickets in hand. Naman Ojha scored a brilliant fifty to help the Royals chase down the target and win the match with five overs remaining. This remains the 9th RCB lowest score in IPL.

The Rising Pune Supergiants, after being invited to bat first, posted a total of 157/3 in their 20 overs. No batters scored fifties, but two batters scored in their40s0 and MS Dhoni gave the finishing touch for the side. Pawan Negi for RCB was the pick of the bowlers as the all-rounder picked 1/18 in his four overs. This was fighting total fight.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have an intense rivalry against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). But they have failed to compete against the Knights, whether at home, away, or in neutral venues. One of the matches during the 2021 IPL, RCB faced KKR at Abu Dhabi and the side could only score 92 runs batting first and had no answer to the KKR bowlers.

KKR, in reply, had an opening partnership of 82 runs between Shubman Gill and Venkatesh Iyer. This sealed the match for the Knights and helped them to earn yet another memorable victory against RCB. This was the third RCB lowest score in IPL against KKR.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK), after batting first, scored a total of 179/5 in the 20 overs. Led by the Australian opener Mathew Hayden, who scored 65 off 35 balls to score have an above-par score in the match. Others also contributed by playing some small and effective innings. Kevin Pietersen was the pick of the bowlers for them with 14/1 in three overs.

Coming out to chase RCB was never in the game. They lost their first opener, Praveen Kumar, in the very first over. KKR's Brendon McCullum kicked off the IPL in a grand fashion as he scored 158* against RCB and set the tone for the competition. KKR 222/3 in the very first game of the season opener. They had no answer to the spin of Pravin Tambe, who picked four wickets in the game. It's called their fortress, and they played like that in the Southern Derby of the IPL against Royal Challengers Bengaluru. RCB, after being invited to bat first, could only post 70 runs on the board as 9 of their batters were back in the pavilion in single digits.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru posted their second-lowest score in the IPL against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). In the group stage game against the Orange Army, the Bengaluru batters failed to score runs. They were bowled out for 68 runs, and no batter could get past the score of 20 runs. Thus resulting in RCB lowest scores in IPL.

RCB's lowest score in the IPL came against their arch-rivals, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), at the Eden Gardens. The Knights, batting first despite a good start, could only score 131 runs. Gautam Gambhir was the highest scorer for the side with 34 runs. Bengaluru had the chance to win the game easily. But a low-scoring thriller was waiting for the fans.

While coming out to chase, the RCB batting lineup collapsed. This was history in the making, as no batters could get a double-digit mark in the match.
