The first player to go under the hammer was Jake Fraser-McGurk, who entered at a base price of INR 2 Crore but went unsold. Followed by David Miller, who was bought by DC at his base price. But the attention shifted, or better, Auction came to life, when Cameron Green was introduced in the overseas player category with the base price of 2 crores. Mumbai Indians were the first to raise the paddle, showing their thought intent despite their limited purse. Rajasthan Royals soon joined the bidding, pushing prices upward.

Once the bid moved past 13 crore, Rajasthan stepped aside due to the limited amount in its purse, leading to a bid battle between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. With both teams holding strong purses, the bidding escalated further, crossing the 20 crore mark and eventually the previous overseas record. In the final, the contest ended at 25.20 Crore, with KKR securing services and confirming Cameron Green IPL 2026 Team for the 19th edition. Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was officially sold to the Kolkata Knight Riders for a sum of 25.20 Crore, making him one of the most expensive buys of the IPL 2026 Auction. While the bidding crossed the 25 crore mark, he will only receive 18 crore as his player salary, which is the maximum fee allowed for an overseas player, and the rest amount would go to the BCCI fund.
