SRH's Bowling Line Up Boosted by This International Star's Arrival

Sunrisers Hyderabad have been affected a no. of injuries in IPL 2026. Skipper Pat Cummins is already recovering from an injury and missed the first few matches. Following him, English speedster Brydon Carse also suffered a blow ahead of the season opener against RCB. In a massive development, he has been ruled out of the season now.

Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka has replaced Carse in SRH squad for IPL 2026, according to Cricbuzz. Sunrisers are already looking thin on the bowling attack and they will hope that Madushanka can fulfill the void.

Dilshan Madushanka Replaces Brydon Carse

Madushanka has been a key part of Sri Lanka's T20I team and will add more variety to Sunrisers' bowling attack. A talented and skillful left-arm fast medium bowler, Madushanka, has been included in the squad ahead of their match against Chennai Super Kings.

The left-arm quick has joined the Hyderabad franchise for INR 75 Lakh. Recently, he has been in and out of the Sri Lanka team but has a decent T20I record, especially with the new ball.

In the recent years, Carse has been performing consistently on the international circuit, which resulted him in getting his maiden IPL contract with Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, before making his debut in the biggest cricket league in the world, he unfortunately sustained an injury and is ruled out of the tournament for the current season.

The right-arm fast medium bowler was signed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad during the 2025 IPL auction for a price of INR 1 Crore and was retained ahead of the 2026 season. With the absence of captain Pat Cummins, he was expected to lead the attack with his experience. But Brydon Carse injury came at a wrong time.

SRH Bowling Lineup Boosted by Dilshan Madushanka's Arrival

In the ongoing Indian Premier League season, Sunrisers Hyderabad have struggled with their bowling attack. Ahead of their season opener against RCB, Pat Cummins and Brydon Carse were injured which left them with a fewer options and ultimately, they lost the match.

A similar thing happened against LSG and PBKS, where the opposition batters dominated the SRH bowlers. Last night, during the game against RR, the debutant duo of Praful Hinge and Sakib Hussain displayed exceptional performances and destroyed the batting lineup. This new bowling line-up can help them rise up in the IPL points table.

With the absence of Pat Cummins, Dilshan Madushanka can be seen as the back-up bowler to Eshan Malinga. He can pair up with Eshan Malinga, Sakib Hussain, and Praful Hinge, which would make the bowling attack lethal and deadly.
