Hardik Pandya Trade Rumours: CSK, KKR, RCB, LSG, SRH — Who Offers What to Mumbai Indians?

Hardik Pandya’s name is once again at the centre of the IPL 2027 trade speculation, with questions surrounding whether Mumbai Indians will continue with one of the best all-rounders in the world. MI had a difficult IPL 2026 season, finishing ninth after managing only four victories, while Pandya contributed 206 runs and four wickets from 10 appearances.

Amid the uncertainty, Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders have reportedly shown strong interest, with Lucknow Super Giants also emerging as a possible destination for the MI skipper. Any potential Hardik Pandya trade would carry more significance because the MI captain has already been involved in one of the IPL’s biggest recent player moves.

Mumbai Indians reacquired Pandya from Gujarat Titans in November 2023 through an all-cash deal for his ₹15 crore league fee. The franchise then transferred Cameron Green to Royal Challengers Bengaluru for ₹17.5 crore. Pandya was then handed the MI captaincy, but after a disappointing season, the trade rumours have once again surfaced.

How the Hardik Pandya Trade Rumours Started?

The Hardik Pandya transfer story began when reports indicated that Mumbai Indians could consider moving on from their captain. The possibility of a Hardik Pandya CSK trade soon entered the conversation, with rumours suggesting an exchange involving Chennai’s Shivam Dube and emerging batter Ayush Mhatre.

Neither CSK nor MI, however, has officially confirmed that such negotiations have taken place. Later, the Hardik Pandya KKR trade is another storyline that has gathered attention. One of the best teams in IPL, the Kolkata Knight Riders have reportedly been viewed as a potential destination, particularly because Pandya could bring leadership experience to the franchise.

Ravichandran Ashwin recently identified Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana as the kind of returns Mumbai Indians could target from KKR, but there is no confirmation of any reported offer. Lucknow Super Giants have also entered the discussion, with one proposed scenario involving a direct exchange between Pandya and Nicholas Pooran. At present, though, the Pooran-Pandya swap remains speculation, and there is no confirmed agreement.

What Can RCB, SRH and Other Teams Offer MI?

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad have also been mentioned in the Hardik Pandya trade discussion. A July report claimed that seven teams had shown interest in Pandya, while specifically stating that RCB and SRH were not among them.

For Mumbai Indians, a trade could make sense if they receive multiple players who address specific squad requirements. CSK's reported package could strengthen the batting unit, KKR have valuable Indian options such as Rinku Singh and Harshit Rana, while LSG could offer the explosive Nicholas Pooran.

Despite the growing Hardik Pandya trade rumours, no deal has been confirmed.

Recent reports suggest MI are yet to make a final decision, while Pandya's spokesperson has denied that the player has spoken directly with another franchise. At this stage, CSK and KKR remain the most prominent names in the speculation, but the IPL 2027 trade window will reveal whether Pandya continues with Mumbai Indians or moves elsewhere.
