Is MS Dhoni Joining Politics After IPL 2026?

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is underway along with the State Elections of several states in India. While both are considered to be the big events, one in the sporting industry while other in the form of administration of the state. While IPL is being played in India, all the fans are just waiting for one player to get back on the field, MS Dhoni, who is struggling with injury and soon will be making a comeback on the field.

On the other hand, during the Tamil Nadu Election Results day when Chennai Super Kings supporter and ex-ambassador, Thalapathy Vijay was leading well in the results, there were social media buzz around the possibility of MS Dhoni in politics.

There are many social media posts and tweets surfacing that we can see MS Dhoni Politician after the end of the biggest cricket league in the world, IPL. The viral posts claim that MS Dhoni should consider politics and especially representing Tamil Nadu, where he could do wonders with a great support from the public. However, there is no confirmed information or statement about MS Dhoni in politics.

However, he has good relation with Vijay Thalapathy, who is a keen supporter of CSK and was also brand ambassador in 2008. He is currently trending across the country after his political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, is leading strongly in the Tamil Nadu elections. This all made another possibility of MS Dhoni joining hands with him after hanging boots from his IPL career. But these are all assumptions and nothing is confirmed yet by the cricketer himself.

Has MS Dhoni Ever Considered to Join Politics?

MS Dhoni, best wicketkeeper in the world, has always remained away from the spotlight of media and is activley involved in the Indian Servcies whenever, he has time. However, it is unlikely that he ever considered to join politics and be a politician in later part of his career. However, when he took retirement from international cricket, the former central minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sanjay Paswan said that Dhoni can join the party and discussions can be done on how to proceed with it.
