Jason Holder Faces Threat After Taking Virat Kohli's Wicket

Royal Challengers Bengaluru locked horns with Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 Qualifier 1 clash at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala on Tuesday. RCB star opener Virat Kohli once again looked in sublime touch during the powerplay and helped RCB race to 76/1 in the first six overs alongside Devdutt Padikkal.

However, the atmosphere on social media changed quickly after Gujarat Titans all-rounder Jason Holder dismissed Kohli during the innings, after which he was brutally trolled by the fans.

Jason Holder Trolled After Virat Kohli Wicket

Virat Kohli is undoubtedly the most famous cricketer in the world. Soon after Jason Holder removed him in the ninth over, social media users noticed a sudden spike in activity on the West Indies cricketer’s Instagram account. The comments suddenly increased on Jason Holder Instagram account after this moment.

According to a viral screenshot shared on Twitter, Holder’s latest post reportedly jumped from around 430 comments at 8:14 PM IST to more than 2,000 comments within a minute after Kohli’s wicket. The numbers continued to increase rapidly as fans flooded the comment section during the live match.

Many users claimed that several comments included trolling and abusive reactions aimed at Holder following Kohli’s dismissal. However, it wasn't the first time of players trolled after Virat Kohli dismissal. Even during RCB's last clash, SRH pacer Sakib Hussain faced a lot of trolls and abusive comments after he dismissed Kohli in the match.

Jason Holder Faces Mixed Reactions From Fans

Holder received mixed reactions across social media after dismissing Virat Kohli, the player with most runs in IPL history. While several users praised the West Indies all-rounder for picking up a big wicket, others flooded his Instagram comment section with trolling messages. “Where is chokli fans (Where is Chokli fans),” one user commented, while another wrote, “Kohli tera baap hai (Kohli is your father),” as the online reactions continued pouring in during the RCB vs GT Qualifier 1.

Despite the backlash, Holder made a strong impact with the ball for Gujarat Titans. The right-arm pacer picked up two crucial wickets, dismissing both Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal, and finished with figures of 2/39 in his four overs.

Kohli, meanwhile, played an aggressive knock of 43 runs off just 25 deliveries, smashing five fours and a six during RCB’s explosive innings. In the process, he moved up to the 4th spot in the IPL Orange Cap List. Bengaluru eventually posted a massive total of 254 runs in the high-scoring playoff clash.
