Ex-CSK Player Wants Krunal Pandya To Die, Sparks Outrage

Former Chennai Super Kings batter S Badrinath has come up with a shocking statement during the ongoing Indian Premier League season. Badrinath, who is doing the Tamil commentary in IPL 2026, crossed the line while doing his job during the RCB vs MI IPL 2026 match at Raipur.

During the final stages of the match, RCB all-rounder Krunal Pandya was looking to take his team over the line. However, he was clearly suffering from cramps and struggling after almost every ball.

When the pacer Deepak Chahar was bowling the 17th over of the innings, Krunal copped a blow and fell on the ground due to cramps. The left-hander was in immense pain and asked someone from MI's camp to stretch his hamstring.

MI's wicketkeeper Ryan Rickelton stepped in and stretched Krunal's hamstring till the physio came in. It was an excellent example of Spirit of Cricket in IPL, and was praised by several viewers and cricket pundits.

S Badrinath Comment on Krunal Pandya

A fellow Tamil commentator heaped praises on Ryan Rickelton, however, S Badrinath, who was in the Tamil panel of IPL commentators, didn't seem to like it. Badrinath, who has played for CSK before, asked Rickelton to let Krunal “die of cramps” instead of helping him.

S Badrinath Krunal Pandya comment shocked the viewers who were listening to it. The users on social media criticised Badrinath for such insensitive comments towards a reputed cricket player. Some users also linked it to the CSK vs RCB rivalry, which is one of the biggest in the IPL.

No action has been taken in the S Badrinath IPL controversy as of now, but he could be removed from the IPL commentary panel for such statements. Over the years, he has made controversial statements regarding the selection of North and South Indian players in the national cricket team.

After the social media outrage, Badrinath cleared the air with a tweet from his X account. He also praised Rickelton and Mumbai Indians for his gesture.

Krunal Pandya's Knock Takes RCB Home

While Krunal Pandya suffered from cramps, he went on to play a memorable knock against his former team, Mumbai Indians. RCB kept losing wickets at regular intervals but Krunal stayed at one end to hold the innings together.

He went to score 73 off 46 balls, a knock that included 4 fours and 5 sixes. It has been an impressive season for Krunal Pandya, who has shown why he is amongst the best all-rounders in IPL. He has been excellent with his left-arm spin and played a match-winning knock against MI.

This victory has pushed RCB to the top of the IPL points table and they have moved closer to the playoffs. It was a thrilling game of cricket, which went down to the final delivery.
