Watch: KKR Announces Historic Collaboration With These NBA Legends

The Indian Premier League (IPL) is always filled with entertainment on and off the field, which brings the cricket fans together to enjoy the biggest cricket league in the world even more. The three-time champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, have been having a below-average season, where they faced a number of defeats during the initial games, but have been coming back stronger.

However, keeping aside the performance and form of the KKR, the team has come up with the biggest collaboration of cricket with another global sport, Basketball. The KKR collab with NBA has gained attention among the fans, and they want to know what happened during that meeting.

Ahead of the 51st match of the IPL, Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders, the whole KKR team was already in the capital city, Delhi, before the game, where one of the biggest collaborations took place. Some of the KKR players like skipper Ajinkya Rahane, Ankrish Raghuvanshi, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Seifert, and coaches like Dwayne Bravo and Shane Watson were spotted in a video with NBA legends, Isiah Thomas and DeMarcus Cousins playing cricket.

The NBA India posted an Instagram post where they collaborated with the KKR, and it included images and videos. The post was captioned as “Purple & Gold meets the NBA Royalty.” The meeting between Basketball and cricket stars ended in a cricket match where cricketers were seen teaching how to play the game, and they even played a few overs in the lawn of Team Hotel, where they shot pictures and videos. NBA India also posted a video of DeMarcus Cousins smashing the ball away and wrote that KKR got a new power hitter.

KKR Makes a Comeback in IPL 2026

The 2024 champions, KKR, started their IPL campaign on a very poor note, where they got their first 2 points after their first 6 matches were done. After a poor run in the first phase of the league, KRR started a winning streak with a win against the Rajasthan Royals and continued for the next two matches. Another important fixture of KKR is scheduled against Delhi Capitals, where they will be looking forward to continuing this winning streak and make a solid chance in the top 4 or ruin the other team's chances.
