According to The Age, there are high chances of IPL 2027 in Australia as cricket allows both the nations to deepen their ties. As BBL is going to India, the Cricket Australia is hopeful of the IPL coming to their country as a reciprocal effect.

The private talks of IPL in Australia are ongoing at the moment with CA openly inviting the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The IPL 2027 Australia venues could be interesting to see if this happens in the future. It could emerge to be a blockbuster deal between the two cricketing superpowers.

This will also mean that some of the most famous cricketers in the world like Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Hardik Pandya will play the IPL in Australia. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won't be playing any international match in Australia, but they could be back Down Under once again.

Recently, Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese officially announced the hosting of BBL's opening match between Perth Scorchers and Melbourne Renegades in India. This announcement was made with Narendra Modi standing besides Albanese as the former is on a three-day visit to Australia.

When is IPL Played Outside India?

The IPL has been hosted outside India four times in the past. The first time this league was played outside India was in 2009 when South Africa hosted it due to the general elections in the country. The league went outside India in 2014 once again due to the same reason.

Six years later, the IPL 2020 was again played outside India, this time due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The tournament was moved to the UAE with Mumbai Indians emerging as the winners.

Next year, the IPL 2021 was supposed to be played in India. The league was partially completed with some strict Covid-19 protocols. However, the tournament was suspended midway due to the virus outbreak in several squads. Later, the second-half of IPL 2021 was shifted to the UAE.
