Barcelona eyeing Ligue 1 defenders in Monaco clash ahead of January transfer window
The Catalan side begin their Champions League campaign on Thursday night against Monaco. Meanwhile, a scouting opportunity has come in place for defensive reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window. Following the departures of Marcos Alonso and Joao Cancelo, La Masia promoted Gerard Martin and Hector Fort to the first team. According to SPORT, Sports director Deco, along with Hansi Flick will keep an eye on Monaco’s left-back Caio Henrique and right-back Vanderson. Henrique, remains under contract with Monaco for three years, while Vanderson, is tied to the club until 2028.

Deco, previously advising president Joan Laporta, was monitoring Vanderson months ago. However, the defender was departing to Gremio in Brazil after committing to Monaco. Moreover, the French club appears to have Henrique and Vanderson on the sales list after, recently signing their replacements. Jordan Teze came from PSV Eindhoven this summer while Kassoum Ouattara arrived from Amiens a year ago. Both Henrique and Vanderson are represented by Giuliano Bertolucci, who reportedly turned down clubs from the Premier League interest and is now eyeing January.
