Barcelona took advantage of the extra number and Robert Lewandowski scored a hat-trick to register a 4-2 win for the home side. Let us take a look at the Barcelona vs Valencia player ratings from this exciting La Liga showdown.

Barcelona vs Valencia Player Ratings

Barcelona player ratings:

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen- 6: Made one save and committed a horrendous error. He was solely responsible for Valencia’s first goal, giving it away carelessly when trying to dink Hugo Duro.

Joao Cancelo- 7: Made one key pass and two tackles. Overall, Cancelo played a decent game. He was heavily involved in the build-up to the first goal for Barcelona.

Pau Cubarsi- 6.5: Didn’t make any significant contribution. Cubarsi, despite being impressive, wasn’t very solid against Valencia. The 17-year-old will look to use these experiences and keep improving.

Ronald Araujo- 8: Gave away a penalty but provided an assist and made 86 passes. Committed a poor foul inside the area to give away a blatant penalty. Araujo, however, showed his mettle and came back stronger during the game.

Jules Kounde- 7: Made one tackle and one interception. Kounde was reliable in the defense for Barca. He also made a few notable contributions to wrap up an overall good display.

Fermin Lopez- 7: Scored a spectacular opening goal. After being picked out by Raphinha’s pin-point cross, Lopez still had a lot to do. His leaping header and the way he directed the ball to the far corner was textbook.

Andreas Christensen- 6: Had a lackluster outing without any major contribution. Christensen remained anonymous in his new-found midfield role. The Dane usually shows up better than this.

Ilkay Gundogan- 8: Bagged an important assist. As always, the German remains a key player of Xavi’s side and once again showcased his class and experience against Valencia.

Raphinha- 7: Set Fermin up with a delightful cross. Looked like Barca’s most dangerous player in the first half and his assist to Fermin Lopez is worth watching again and again.

Robert Lewandowski- 9: Scored a stellar hat trick to get his side the win. The Polish superstar rose up to the occasion to score a second-half hat-trick, earning his side three crucial points.

Lamine Yamal- 7: Was a livewire and completed four dribbles. Yamal showed glimpses of his highly-touted ability. He was a menace to deal with for Valencia on occasions.

Substitutes:

Sergi Roberto- 7: Dictated the passing game since coming on. The Barca captain showcased his experience after coming on as a substitute. His passing helped Xavi’s side control the game.

Inigo Martinez- 7: Made one tackle and one interception. Martinez helped the defense stabilize since his introduction, something young Cubarsi wasn’t able to do against Valencia.

Joao Felix- 7: Made a key pass after coming on. Felix’s mazy style of play made Barca look more threatening after the Portuguese arrived.

Pedri- 7: Was very accurate with his passing after coming on. As always, Pedri was flawless, completing 22 passes with a 100% accuracy.

Ferran Torres- 7: Caused Valencia a few issues after coming on. Torres continues his good form this season and made his former side struggle in a few instants.

Valencia Player ratings:

Giorgi Mamardashvili- 6: Created a big chance but put his team in trouble by getting sent off. His long ball was key to Valencia earning the penalty. However, his red card was bad decision making and changed the game’s tide.

Jesus Vazquez- 6: Lost possession of the ball 12 times. It wasn’t the best showcase from Vazquez in an important game.

Yarek Gasiorowski- 7: Made two tackles and five interceptions. Was solid defensively in a match where Valencia had a lot to protect.

Cristhian Mosquera- 6: Made one tackle and two clearances. He didn’t make too much impact and could have stood up for his side more.

Thierry Correia- 7: Made two clearances and three tackles. Put on a defensive shift for his side and his valiant effort has to be recognized.

Diego Lopez- 6: Was barely involved in the team’s attacking play. In a game of a few chances for Valencia, Lopez could have done more.

Pepelu- 7: Scored a calm penalty and did most of the little service he got. Showed a cool head when taking a pressure penalty against Ter Stegen.

Javier Guerra- 7: Won five ground duels for his team. Helped his team out defensively in a match where a lot of the attack came against them.

Peter Gonzalez- 6: Didn’t have any major influence in the game. He was not very influential and could have done more to give Valencia a better chance after going up.

Hugo Duro- 8: Fooled Ter Stegen to score and won four ground duels for his team. Showed his predatory instinct in the first goal to put Ter Stegen under pressure and find the back of the net.

Andre Almeida- 7: Completed a key pass for his side. Contributed to his side’s attack in a match where they didn’t have too many clear-cut chances.

Substitutes:

Jaume Domenech- 8: Made eight saves after coming on. Came on to replace Mamardashvili and despite conceding three goals, made a few crucial saves.

Alberto Mari- 6: Didn’t have any major influence since coming on. DIdn’t make the impact expected of a substitute in such a high-voltage game.

Hugo Guillamon- 5: Made an error which led to a shot from Barcelona. Was not responsible in possession and allowed Barca a run on their goal.

Cenk Ozkacar- 6: Made one clearance and one tackle. Made a few notable defensive contributions after being introduced to the game.

Sergi Canos- 6: Made only two passes and lost possession twice after coming on. Could have been more clinical on the ball after coming on. DIdn’t have much of a chance to impact the match either.
