Marc-Andre Ter Stegen denies influence on Barcelona's Xavi decision

“Attacks my personal values “- Marc-Andre Ter Stegen blasts reports claiming he was behind Barcelona’s decision to sack Xavi

Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has blasted reports claiming he was behind Barcelona‘s decision to sack Xavi. A Spanish media outlet reported that the Germans complained to the board about Xavi. They claimed Ter Stegen told the board that the dressing room didn’t like Xavi calling out players’ mistakes during the Girona defeat.

Ter Stegen has now rubbished those claims. He posted a stern message on social media, writing on X (formerly Twitter):

“The story published by ‘Barça Reservat’ directly attacks my personal values and I will not tolerate someone using my name to create bad vibes based on false information. If I ever want to say or report something, I will always be very direct with the person.”

Xavi has officially been sacked by Barcelona. The Spaniard announced earlier in the season that he’ll leave at the end of the season. Barcelona convinced him to overturn the stance. However, just after a month, they have sacked Xavi. Hansi Flick will join Barcelona as their next coach.
