Brighton vs Manchester United Player Ratings

Brighton vs Manchester United Player Ratings as Red Devils end season with a win

Manchester United have finished the season with a 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. Diogo Dalot and Rasmus Hojlund got the goals as the Red Devils finished 8th in the Premier League table.

The home side dominated possession and scots, but Erik ten Hag’s side made the most of their half chances and snatched the win. Without further ado, here are the the player ratings from the match:

Brighton player ratings:

Jason Steele – 4/10

Should have done a lot better for both the goals. Had to make just once save the whole game and was mostly used just for retaining possession.

Jakub Moder – 6/10

Was solid in defence and managed to get forward a lot. Got two shots in the game, and one was on target.

Adam Webster – 8/10

A brilliant performance but just could not get the help needed from his teammate. He blocked 4 shots and made two clearances in the game to prevent Manchester United.

Igor Júlio – 5/10

The Brazilian should have done a lot better for the two goals and was responsible for them. He did not clear the long ball from Casemiro for the first one and gave Hojlund the space to shoot for the second.

Valentín Barco – 7/10

The Argentine is slowly showing why he was highly sort-after before moving to Brighton. He could have given his side the goal, but Onana denied him with a smart save.

Carlos Baleba – 6.5/10

Was able to close down Amrabat and Mainoo every time his side needed him. Moreover he was able to Shadow Bruno Fernandes and keep the Portuguese star away from the game.

Pascal Groß – 7/10

One of the best performances of the season from Gross. The German could have scored early in the second half but his show was easily saved.

Simon Adingra – 6/10

Just not good enough today as he struggled to get the ball. He failed to get a show away in the 81 minutes on the pitch.

Adam Lallana – 6/10

Another player who disappointed today. Had three chances to score but just could not get them past the nearest defender.

João Pedro – 6.5/10

The Brazilian had five chances to score today but failed to get the ball into the back of the net. He missed two big chances with poor attempts.

Danny Welbeck – 6/10

The former Manchester United star had a chance to do well against his former side but failed to get single shot away.

Julia Enciso – 6/10

He was brought on to get more control in the midfield but failed to get involved.

Tariq Lamptey – 6/10

Lamptey was lucky to escape a red card against Chelsea and had to settle for a bench role today.  Hardly made an impact in the final minutes.

Billy Gilmour – 5/10

Hardly made an impact in the final minutes but picked up a booking.

Ansu Fati – 6/10

Hardly made an impact in the final minutes despite getting a shot away.

Manchester United player ratings:

André Onana – 7/10

The goalkeeper has improved as the season went by, and today was another exceptional performance. He managed to make crucial saves to keep his side in the game before they scored the goals.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka – 5/10

The right-back was not good enough today and was getting beaten often. He had a tough time against Pedro on the flank.

Casemiro – 7.5/10

The Brazilian has been under a lot of pressure but showed his class today. While he had some questionable moments in the defence, he was brilliant after moving to the midfield.

Lisandro Martínez – 7/10

The Argentine showed exactly what they were missing in the defense this season. He played his part well and managed to keep Welbeck quiet.

Diogo Dalot – 8/10

A goal to cap off a good performance on the final day of the season for the Portuguese star. He was good in defence but his move upfront saw the deadlock being broken in the 73rd minute.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5.5/10

The youngster was unable to do much today as Brighton kept pressing him. He still managed two key passes in the game and finished with 85% pass success.

Sofyan Amrabat – 6/10

The Moroccan star could not deliver like he did against Newcastle United and that saw the Red Devils struggle in the midfield.

Amad Diallo – 7/10

Another player who could not replicate his performance against Newcastle United. He was isolated on the right flank and could not link up.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6.5/10

The Argentine was also unable to do much in attack and was finding it hard to get the ball to his feet. He managed 4 shots, but just one was on target.

Scott McTominay – 6/10

The Scotsman was playing upfront with Bruno Fernandes today and could not do much. He was getting goals when needed early this season, but that not been the case lately.

Bruno Fernandes – 7/10

The midfielder was playing out of position today and just not seeing a lot of the ball. Managed a shot on target, but hardly troubled Steele.

Jonny Evans – 6/10

The defender replaced Martinez at the hour mark and managed to keep the backline tight.

Rasmus Hojlund – 8/10

The young striker needed a goal to boost his confidence, and he did just that. The Norwegian made his own chance and scored with ease.

Raphael Varane – 6/10

Hardly had anything to do as Manchester United were dominating the game when he came on. Casemiro moving to the midfield helped him more.

Christian Eriksen – 6.5/10

The midfielder showed that he still has it in him and can deliver when needed. A real throwback performance to his Tottenham days.

Marcus Rashford – 5/10

Hardly made an impact after coming on.
