Chelsea players react to Mauricio Pochettino’s departure
Less than a year after being appointed and despite leading the club back into European football, Chelsea announced, after the end of the league season, that Mauricio Pochettino had been sacked. The statement revealed that the two parties had parted ways by mutual consent although reports had indicated that the Chelsea board had sacked the Argentine.
The decision was announced on social media less than an hour after Matt Law of the Telegraph had reported the same but the news did not go down well. Fans and critics alike were shocked by the decision and so were the players as reports indicated that the squad wasn’t informed of the decision beforehand and found out on social media.
