Endrick is a professional footballer who currently plays for Real Madrid at the club level and Brazil at the international level. He’s widely regarded as one of the most promising youngsters in world football.
He came through Palmeiras’ ranks and made his name in the Brazilian league before Real Madrid signed him up in 2022 when he was just 16 years old. He had a stellar time with the Brazilian giants’ academy, scoring 165 goals in 169 games across different youth levels. The youngster eventually joined the Spanish side in the summer of 2024, after he turned 18, signing a six-year contract. He won his first trophy with them in the form of the UEFA Super Cup.
He impressed during his time with Palmeiras and Brazil’s U17 team, winning multiple tournaments and individual accolades. This saw him being selected for Brazil’s senior team in 2023. Endrick scored his first goal for Brazil’s senior team in a 1-0 win over England in a friendly in March 2024. He was also part of the squad for the Copa America 2024, where they were eliminated at the quarter-final stage.
Endrick Felipe Moreira de Sousa was born on July 21, 2006, in Taguatinga, Federal District, Brazil. He made his senior professional debut on 6 October 2022 at just 16 years old, showcasing his commitment to becoming a professional footballer. Interestingly, Endrick’s father, Douglas de Sousa Silva Ramos, played as a professional footballer for multiple small clubs but couldn’t make it big. He eventually joined Palmeiras as a janitor. He even abandoned his family for around six months to try to pursue football with several clubs, but returned eventually. Endrick and other members of the family had to live in an orphanage when their father abandoned them. His mother, Cintia, is a housewife. He has a younger brother, Noah, and two sisters as well.
Endrick, meanwhile, started playing football when he was just four years old. His father would upload his skills and goals on YouTube to gain publicity from clubs. He even trained at a Real Madrid camp in Brazil with his friends at the age of 8. He became inspired to become a big footballer after seeing the poor financial condition at his home.
He is inspired by footballing legend Cristiano Ronaldo. In an interview, he also hailed Sir Bobby Charlton as his idol, along with the likes of Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes.
