32′ – Trippier did well to keep the incoming cross in play before Foden teed Kane up to cross towards Saka at the far post, but the Arsenal wideman couldn’t get there and the ball goes out!

39′ – Trippier swung another ball back towards Rice in the middle, but his attempted header was palmed away by Dubravka as Vavro got caught between the pair!

45′ + 5′ – HALF TIME

46′ – This is the first knockout game at a major tournament in which England failed to record a shot on target in the first half, since the 1986 World Cup quarter-final versus Argentina.

50′ – Foden taps the ball into the goal from close range, but Trippier was offside from the pass from Kane!

59′ – Mainoo moved into a pocket of space and drove beyond Kucka into the box. He was fouled late by the midfielder as he passed, but the challenge was just outside the area and within shooting range!

81′ – OFF THE POST!!! England go close! Saka teed up Rice on the edge of the box, but his 25-yard strike rattled back off the left-hand post!!! The ball bounced into Kane’s path, but he couldn’t set himself in time and sent in a half-volley wide!

81′ – Double substitution for Slovakia as Ondrej Duda and Juraj Kucka are replaced by Benes and Bero

90′ – The fourth official adds six minutes of added time!

90’+5′ – GOALLLLLLLLLLL! Would you believe it? It’s Jude Bellingham who gets a late-late equaliser for England. Walker’s long throw into a crowded box was glanced by the head of a Slovakia defender, and Bellingham unleashed an insane overhead kick into the Slovakian goal’s bottom right corner and making it 1-1! WE GO INTO EXTRA-TIME!

91′ – GOALLLLLLLLL! This is just insane! England have taken the lead just at the beginning of the first half of extra-time as Harry Kane scored off of Ivan Toney’s assist!

97′ – Harry Kane has entered an elite zone in terms of international goalscoring as he has now scored 14 goals at major tournaments, with only four European players scoring more than him, who are Cristiano Ronaldo (22), Miroslav Klose (19), Gerd Muller (18) and Jurgen Klinsmann (16)!

100′ – Kane has scored seven goals in his last seven appearances in the knockout stages of major tournaments for England. His eight goals in the knockout stages overall are also the most of any England player.

105′ – WHAT A CHANCE! Slovakia were so so close to get the equaliser. Bozenik passed the ball back to Benes, who sent in a ball across the face of England’s goal. Pekarik’s came in to slide at the far post, but additional pressure from Eze leads to Pekarik somehow skying the ball over the bar!

106′ – Probable match winners Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham are taken off by Gareth Southgate with Chelsea star Conor Gallagher and Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa coming on to help England hold their lead for the next 15 odd minutes!

108′ – YELLOW CARD! Denis Vavro.

109′ – Slovakia bring Lubomir Tupta in place of Peter Pekarik!

110′ – Slovakia won a free-kick, but Tupta’s 25-yard strike goes way over the bar!

114′ – YELLOW CARD! Norbert Gyömbér

116′ – Guehi does some good defending to stop any incoming Slovakian threat from making it to England’s box

120′ + 1′ – FULL TIME! England have come back from the dead and won the game 2-1 after extra-time! The Three Lions will now face Switzerland in the quarter-final of Euro 2024!
