Erik Ten Hag comments on Jadon Sancho’s future at Manchester United after fantastic performances with Borussia Dortmund

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag responded to what Borussia Dortmund have achieved in the Champions League this season so far, mainly about his loan player Jadon Sancho. Dortmund heroically trashed Atletico Madrid out of the competition after winning 5-4 on aggregate.

Dortmund came back to overturn the table in the second leg, beating Atletico 4-2 at Signal Iduna Park. Ten Hag praised the determination Dortmund had shown in that game, putting Sancho into discussion.

Erik Ten Hag comments on Jadon Sancho’s hard work with Borussia Dortmund

“Of course, I follow international football and follow the players on loan at other clubs,” Ten Hag said via Goal. “It was a fantastic game, Dortmund against Atletico Madrid. A great performance from Dortmund and also for Jadon it’s good news. He made his contribution to the result for Dortmund.”

Sancho has been on loan with Dortmund since January, scoring two goals from 10 matches. The London-born midfielder played an important role for Dortmund, appearing in 86 minutes of the game.

Ten Hag was asked about Jancho’s future when his loaning spell ends with Dortmund and the Dutch manager refused to say much about that. “No,” he said. “But we know Jadon Sancho is a fantastic football player, so that is not a surprise for us. That is not the issue.”

Sancho had a gloomy cloud over him since Ten Hag came to Old Trafford. The former Ajax manager once accused Sancho of behaving badly during his time with United despite coming with €85.00 million.

Dortmund will face Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semifinal. The first leg is scheduled to take place at Signal Iduna Park on the second day of May. The reversed fixture will be at Parc des Princes six days later.
