Key Moment

France were keeping the pressure on Belgium and were passing the ball around the box. Jules Kounde finds N’Golo Kante at the edge and the midfielder plays a one-touch pass to Kolo Muani.

The Frane star would have had his FIFA World Cup final miss at the back of his mind, but still turned towards the goal and had a shot away. Jan Vertonghen is just inches away and cannot do anything as the ball deflects off his knee and loops into the goal.

Player of the Match

Aurélien Tchouaméni got booked early in the match and skied a lot of shots from the edge of the box. However, he was their key man once again and always a threat to the Belgian defense.

Conclusion

Several fans, especially the neutrals, would be delighted with the goal at the very end as it was rather a boring match from start to end. Belgian fans will be heartbroken, but the French faithful would be delighted with the result, even though the performance was subpar.

They will now face the winner of the game between Portugal vs Slovenia!
