La Liga Top Scorers: Players with the most goals after Gameweek 24

As the La Liga season progresses, teams are slowly beginning to build and maintain momentum. More than halfway into the season, Real Madrid have now established a five-point gap over chasers Girona as they march towards yet another title.

Barcelona, Atletico Madrid and Athletic Club make up the next group of teams. A cool five points separates the teams from third to fifth. A congested mid-table with just 11 points between sixth and 12th place could see the fight for spots go down to the wire.

Meanwhile, Almeria and Granada look increasingly likely to be relegated come the end of the season as they are rooted to the foot of the table.

Gameweek 24 saw some entertaining contests. Real Madrid brushed Girona aside 4-0, while Barcelona were held to an entertaining 3-3 draw by Granada. Elsewhere, Getafe scraped a last-gasp 3-2 win over Celta Vigo. A total of 26 goals were scored across 10 games, causing some movement in the scoring charts.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at La Liga Top Scorers after Gameweek 24.

Bellingham continues his fairytale start for Real Madrid as he retains his number 1 spot for another gameweek.

Having drawn blanks in his last two games against Getafe and Atletico Madrid, Bellingham was keen to get on the scoresheet. A big game player by all means, he stepped up to the occasion and netted a composed brace to create breathing space between Los Blancos and Girona.

The Englishman now has 16 goals and three assists from 21 games in La Liga this season and will look to hit the 25-goal mark. However, he came off injured in the last game and no further news regarding any injury has yet been shared. It will be wise to keep an eye on this one.

Borja Mayoral | Getafe | 15 Goals

Mayoral climbs up one spot from third to second this week following his opener against Celta Vigo in a thrilling 3-2 win for his team. This takes him to 15 goals and one assist in 24 league games.

The Spaniard has been in top form this season and has netted almost half of his team’s 32 league goals so far. The next top scorer Mason Greenwood has 10 fewer strikes than Mayoral, showing his importance to his club.

Having been linked with big money moves away, Borja Mayoral will look to finish the season strong to attract suitors.

Artem Dovbyk | Girona | 14 Goals

Dovbyk drops down one place into third after drawing a blank for the second-successive week. This keeps the Ukrainian on 14 goals and five assists in 22 games so far.

Girona came up against a resolute Real Madrid side and honestly did not stand a chance. They attempted just five shots throughout the game and did not even hit the target once.

With games against bottom-half sides Rayo Vallecano, Mallorca and Osasuna coming up, Dovbyk will look to be firing on all cylinders to make an impact.

Having scored the winner against Girona in late January, Morata has now gone scoreless in three La Liga games since then. He put in a disappointing performance in Atleti’s 1-0 defeat at Sevilla and was subbed off at half-time with an injury concern.

He remains on 13 goals and one assist in 22 appearances so far. Atletico have games against Las Palmas, Almeria and Real Betis coming up and will hope Morata chips in with some goals.

Antoine Griezmann | Atletico Madrid | 11 Goals

Griezmann too drew a blank in Atleti’s 1-0 defeat at Sevilla, leaving him on 11 goals and six assists in 24 league appearances so far.

Having made a strong start to the campaign and having scored in every other game until early January, Griezmann is now scoreless in his last seven games across competitions. With a congested schedule coming up, the Frenchman will look to re-lace his shooting boots.
