Liverpool Injury Update: Klopp reveals three new injuries in Man United defeat

Speaking to the media after Liverpool’s loss to Man United in extra time in the FA Cup, Jurgen Klopp provided an update on three new injuries sustained by Liverpool players. The news comes as the manager is already dealing with a Liverpool Injury crisis in his farewell season.

Liverpool Injury Update: Three new injuries for The Reds at Old Trafford

Liverpool FC traveled to Old Trafford to take on the Red Devils in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. The evening started fine and the game looked to be Liverpool’s, but late mistakes cost them a lot. Liverpool led the game 1-2 in the dying embers of the game, but an 87th-minute Antony goal helped Manchester United drag the game into extra time. What ensued was an action-packed 30 minutes before Manchester United achieved victory with a last-minute winner to win the game 4-3. While the loss will haunt Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp’s men have another concern as three new players have picked up an injury in the Man United defeat.

Speaking to the media after the defeat, Jurgen Klopp provided a crucial Liverpool injury update. The German gaffer revealed that Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez were the latest additions to the long Liverpool injury list. The manager while speaking on BBC Match of the Day said, “ Now, the boys go on international duty. They have to recover and we hope that they all come back healthy. We have some problems. Lucho [Diaz] felt his groin, Darwin [Nunez felt his] hamstring – hopefully not bad – and Cody [Gakpo] twisted his ankle, I think, I don’t know, I didn’t see it back.”

The three new injuries will worry Klopp as he deals with a long Liverpool injury list in his farewell season. Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and Darwin Nunez will join Trent Alexander-Arnold, Alisson Becker, Thiago, and many more on the sidelines. While the three new injuries will seriously hurt Liverpool’s squad depth, the club will hope to recover some key players by the end of the international break.

Liverpool Injury Update: When will Liverpool stars return for Klopp’s side?

As Liverpool FC looks to challenge for the English Premier League and Europa League title, a long injury list is bound to hamper the Merseyside club. However, it seems that many stars are inching closer to returning to the pitch on the other side of the international break. It seems that Liverpool are set to recover Diogo Jota and Trent Alexander-Arnold from injury in the first week of April. Ryan Gravenberch and Ibrahima Konate have already returned to training and will be back for Liverpool’s next game.

While Jurgen Klopp didn’t confirm the extent of the latest injuries sustained by Cody Gakpo, Darwin Nunez, and Luis Diaz, it seems unlikely that they will be ruled out for an extended period and should return to the pitch post the international break.
