The Frenchman is currently a free agent after leaving Manchester United
Turkish giants Galatasaray are reportedly interested in signing Anthony Martial as a free agent, according to ESPN. The Frenchman left Man United at the end of the 2023–24 season and hasn’t signed for any club just yet.
Signed on a £36 million transfer from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, Martial’s career has been on the wane lately, owing to his recurring injuries and loss of form. His loan spell at Sevilla didn’t bear any fruits either.
Following another injury-riddled campaign that saw him limited to only 13 league games, the 28-year-old announced his departure from Old Trafford after nine years. Although his future is still unclear, his next likely destination could be away from any of Europe’s top five leagues.
Galatasaray, who have snapped up a few high-profile players in the recent past, are reportedly interested in signing the forward. The Lions won the Turkish Super Lig for the second year running and are now looking to strengthen their squad again.
Martial has emerged as their potential target in the attacking department, and further developments can be expected in this transfer saga.
Martial has so much more to give
At 28 years of age, Anthony Martial is far from done. He has so much more to give. Fitness issues have been a major factor in his decline at Manchester United, but if he keeps himself in shape, the Frenchman can cause a real attacking menace. He is currently in the prime of his career, and a change of scene may be what he needs to revive his career.
