Man United are set to face Brentford away in the Premier League on Saturday, March 30. Ahead of the game, manager Erik ten Hag provided an injury update on two key players Luke Shaw and Lisandro Martinez.
Erik ten Hag gives Man United injury update
Man United have had to deal with numerous injury issues this season, including to Shaw and Martinez. Shaw missed a major chunk of the first half of the season due to a muscle injury. He made 15 appearances across competitions after returning but picked up another muscle injury in February.
In a pre-match press conference, Ten Hag spoke about the English left-back and said:
“Yes, I expect him back before the end of the season, that is the plan and he is still on schedule for this. He will return into our team.”
Another key player who has suffered from injuries this season is Lisandro Martinez. The centre-back earlier dealt with a foot injury but suffered a knee injury just a few games after returning to action.
About Martinez’s injury, Ten Hag said:
“Yes there is a chance [he will be in the squad against Brentford]. We have missed him every game because he brings a composure in the team and a calmness in the team and, at the same time, a winning attitude. He can express this very clearly, he can transfer that to the team and that contributes to our levels.”
Martinez has been a key player for Man United since arriving from Ajax in the summer of 2022. He has made just 10 appearances across competitions this season, which has coincided with the team struggling as well.
Meanwhile, the likes of Tyrell Malacia and Anthony Martial remain out for Man United. Amad Diallo, meanwhile, is suspended.

Man United hoping to build momentum ahead of key fixtures in PL
The Red Devils have struggled this season but still find themselves sixth in the Premier League table, having ground out results in multiple games.
United are six points behind fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur. There might be a chance that the fifth-placed team qualifies for the UEFA Champions League next season and Man United will be hoping to get that spot.
Their final stretch of the season will begin against Brentford, who are 15th in the table. United beat them 2-1 in the reverse fixture.
After facing Brentford though, Erik ten Hag’s side have two big fixtures coming up. They will first face Chelsea away on Thursday, April 4 before hosting Liverpool on Sunday. These games could potentially make or break United’s season.
